What decides a submersible order.
Warranty
SP and SPE pumps, pump ends and MS/MMS motors: 24 months from installation, no more than 30 months from manufacture, under the Grundfos limited warranty. SQ, SQE and CUE 100 terms are on the Data Sheet tab of each listing.
Reliability
AISI 304 stainless pumps with sand-channel bearings and built-in check valves. The SQ and SQE motor carries its own soft start and dry-run, overload and voltage protection; MP 204 protects three-phase motors.

Casing size first: SQ and SQE from 3 in, SP 4 in from 4 in, SP 90S–300S from 6 in, 385S and 475S from 8 in, 625S–1100S from 10 in. Single-phase to 5 HP on the SP; three-phase to 250 HP.

Verdict. Grundfos is the only line here with a full 3 in range and with complete pumps for 6 in to 10 in wells. Franklin wins on sandy and corrosive water, with ductile iron STS turbines and 316 SS SR pump ends, and on permanent magnet motors to higher horsepower. A.Y. How do I size the pump?
Work out flow and total dynamic head: pumping level, rise to the tank, pressure × 2.31 and friction. Then pick the build whose head at your flow clears it. The Submersible Calculator does the math.
