What Ships and What It Needs to Run
Included: the Grundfos SPE replacement pump end with its built-in check valve.
SPE permanent magnet motor required, ordered separately. The pump end mounts on the Grundfos 6 in permanent magnet motor of the horsepower in the selector; the SPE PM replacement motor part number for each build is in the Models & Ratings table.
Drive and filter required, ordered separately. The permanent magnet motor starts and runs only from a drive with IPM motor control, the Grundfos CUE variable frequency drive, with a sine-wave output filter.
Overview
These are the Grundfos SPE replacement pump ends: the stainless steel hydraulic end of an SPE variable speed submersible, with its built-in check valve, sold without the motor. Pump and impellers are AISI 304 stainless steel. The SPE runs on a Grundfos 6 in permanent magnet motor driven by a Grundfos CUE drive; Grundfos rates the motors 4-pole, 3600 RPM, three-phase 460V, operating on 410V.
Use one to rebuild an SPE installation on a sound permanent magnet motor. The complete SPE 10 in pump, with its motor, is listed separately.
Genuine Grundfos equipment, factory-new in original packaging — sold and supported by Watermain Supply, an independent industrial supplier.
24-Month Grundfos Warranty
Covered for 24 months from the date of installation, but not more than 30 months from the date of manufacture. In Grundfos’s words, products are “warranted to the original user only to be free of defects in material and workmanship”; the full terms are in the installation and operating instructions on the Data Sheet tab. Grundfos’s 5-year system warranty applies when the complete SPE pump, CUE drive and sine-wave filter are bought together.
Single Pump or a Set?
Each pump end rebuilds one SPE pump. For a duty/standby pair or a different flow class, send us the duty and we will size it with you.

The model code reads series, motor horsepower and stages: SPE625S500-2 is the SPE 625S for the 50 HP permanent magnet motor, with 2 stages. Performance — Will It Do What You Need?
The nominal head in the Models & Ratings table is the total head Grundfos publishes for each SPE build at its rated flow, at full speed, in feet. On the CUE drive the pump runs at variable speed, so it covers duties below the full-speed curve. Pick a model whose head covers your pumping level plus the pressure you need at the surface (2.31 ft per psi) plus pipe friction.
