Grundfos designs its pumps as systems: the pump, the motor, the drive or control box, the protection and the fittings are specified together, and each part carries its own Grundfos product number. This collection gathers the accessories, spare parts and repair parts that complete or keep those systems running, from the control box on a well pump to the shaft seal in a vertical multistage pump and the communication module on a commercial booster.

Getting the Right Part

Four things decide whether an accessory or spare is right for your pump.

Match the Number

Every Grundfos part is ordered by its product number. The pump or motor nameplate gives the product number and the model code, which is the fastest way to the right part.

Warranty

Parts made by Grundfos carry Grundfos’s published warranty terms. Some accessories Grundfos sells are made by others, such as sine-wave filters and diaphragm tanks, and carry their maker’s warranty. Each product page states which applies.

Fit

Check the motor size, voltage and phase, the connection size, and for seals and gaskets the pump size and elastomer. Voltage-specific parts are not interchangeable.

How to Find Your Part

Five steps that get the right part the first time.

1. Read the nameplate

The nameplate carries the Grundfos product number, the model or type designation and a production code. The product number identifies the exact build; the type designation tells you the range, stages, materials and seal.

2. Note the motor

For submersible pumps, record the motor model, diameter, HP, voltage, phase and whether it is 2-wire or 3-wire. Control boxes, leads and bolt kits are specific to the motor, not the pump end.

3. Decode the seal

On CR-family pumps the shaft seal is a four-letter code such as HQQE: the first letter is the seal type, the next two are the seal face materials, and the last is the elastomer, E for EPDM or V for FKM. Order the kit for your pump size with the same code.

4. Match the electrics

Drives, filters and protectors are rated by motor current as well as horsepower. Size them to the full-load amps on the motor nameplate, and check the cable length between drive and motor.

5. Send a photo

If the nameplate is worn or the pump is in a well, a photo of whatever is readable plus the installation details is usually enough for us to identify the part.

Tip. When you order a new pump, add the seal kit, gasket kit or control accessory at the same time. It costs nothing extra in freight and saves a second trip when the pump is first serviced.

Drives, Filters and Motor Protection

The electrical side of a Grundfos installation, and when each piece is needed.

CUE Variable-Frequency Drives

Grundfos CUE drives run submersible and surface pumps at variable speed to hold pressure or flow, with pump-specific setup built in. IP20, IP55 and IP66 enclosures cover panel, plant-room and outdoor installations.

CUE 100 Constant Pressure

Takes a single-phase supply and runs a three-phase submersible motor at variable speed to hold a set water pressure, with the transducer supplied.

Sine-Wave Output Filters

Condition the drive output for the motor cable and submersible motor. Grundfos rates them by amps and by the pump horsepower they serve; check the drive manual for the cable lengths that call for one.

Drive Options

Sensor input and multipump modules, remote-mount control panels, enclosure kits and floor-mounting options adapt a CUE drive to the installation.

Motor Protectors

Electronic protectors such as the MP 204 monitor current, voltage and temperature to trip before a motor is damaged, and can report over GENIbus.

Control Boxes

Single-phase 3-wire submersible motors need a control box with starting capacitor and relay; standard and deluxe versions add overload breakers and contactors.

Seals, Gaskets and Repair Kits

The wear parts behind most pump repairs.

A leaking shaft seal is the most common repair on a vertical multistage pump. Grundfos CR-family pumps use cartridge seals that are replaced as a unit without disturbing the hydraulics, and gasket kits renew the O-rings and gaskets opened during the repair. Kits are grouped by pump range, so one kit covers several sizes.

EPDM

The standard elastomer for clean, potable and hot water.

FKM

For oils, many chemicals and liquids that attack EPDM. Match the elastomer to the liquid, not to the original if the service has changed.

Fasteners and Leads

Nut and bolt kits couple submersible pump ends to their motors, and replacement motor leads are matched to motor family and wiring.

Before you open the pump. Isolate power and water, relieve pressure, and have the kit on hand. A seal replaced with a new gasket set is a one-visit job.

Communication and Remote Monitoring

Connecting Grundfos pumps and boosters to people and systems.

Grundfos GO

The free Grundfos app for setup, live data, alarm troubleshooting and reports. Pumps without Bluetooth connect through the MI 301 mobile interface.

BMS Modules

CIM communication interface modules put Grundfos products on BACnet, Modbus, PROFINET or EtherNet/IP networks. CIU boxes house a module for products without an internal slot.

Remote Management

Cellular and Ethernet modules connect to Grundfos Remote Management and iSolutions Cloud for off-site alarms and data, with antennas and brackets for weak-signal sites. Remote access needs a Grundfos data plan.

Does a single-phase submersible motor need a control box?
