DuraMAC Dual-Mode commercial boosters from A.Y. McDonald share one pump, one motor and one two-mode digital control across three configurations. The Simplex and Duplex arrive factory-assembled on a stainless steel skid with a 20-gallon tank and the piping already made up — set them, connect them and commission. The Modular is the same booster supplied bare, for a system that already has a tank and header. They deliver consistent water pressure for light-commercial buildings, apartments, restaurants, small hotels and similar multi-unit demand.

Multi-unit and higher-demand buildings, and anywhere downtime is unacceptable
Lead/lag on the Duplex means the lead pump is set higher than the lag — typically 60 psi and 50 psi. If the lead cannot hold the setpoint and pressure falls to the lag figure, the second pump starts and both run together. Configuration is chosen at purchase: a simplex cannot be converted to a duplex in the field.

Power
230V single phase, 2 HP TEFC per pump. Published amps are 7.0 on the 44 psi models and 8.0 on the 60 psi. Size the Duplex circuit for both pumps running. There is no three-phase option in this family.
Control rating
230 VAC, 60 Hz, 8 FLA, 48 LRA. The pump stops below three gallons per minute in either mode.
Pressure reducing valve
A.Y. McDonald recommends a PRV above 36 psi incoming on the 44 psi models and above 20 psi on the 60 psi models, so total boosted pressure stays under 80 psi. Many plumbing codes cap system pressure there — check local code.
