Below-frost pitless units, municipal pitless booster stations, well caps, and pitless adapters — engineered by Baker in Evansville, Wisconsin since 1873.
Monitor, a division of Baker Manufacturing Company, LLC, developed the first pitless unit and has built well-head equipment in Evansville, Wisconsin since 1873. Watermain Supply distributes the full Monitor line: industrial and municipal pitless units, pitless booster stations, and a complete domestic and rural well-head line. Monitor water-passage products are made in the USA, NSF/ANSI 61 and 372 certified, conform to Water Systems Council PAS-97 (2017), and are available AIS/BABA compliant by request.
The pitless unit forms a watertight extension of the well casing below the frost line, lets the submersible pump be removed without disturbing external piping, and discharges below grade to prevent surface contamination — eliminating the well house and well pit.
| Product family | Size range | Typical application |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Industrial Pitless Units | 6 to 16 in well | Municipal and industrial groundwater wells; flowing wells |
| Custom Industrial Pitless Units | 10 to 36 in well | Large-diameter and high-capacity production wells |
| Pitless Booster Stations | 5 to 36 in tank | Pressure boosting — potable, non-potable, irrigation, snow-making |
| Weld-On Pitless Adapters | 8, 10, 12 in well | Quick, watertight steel-casing well-head connections |
| Protective Well Enclosures | 24 to 42 in dia | Above-grade well-head security, venting, and freeze protection |
Water passages are hot-dipped lead-free galvanized or corrosion-resistant material, sealed with neoprene O-rings between precisely machined surfaces. Cast iron caps and screened vents, steel pitless cases, and ductile or cast iron discharge bodies are standard; stainless steel is available on request. Units are rated to 300 psi discharge as standard, with higher pressures accommodated using backup rings. Booster stations add a 150 psi inlet rating. In-line check valves are Flomatic, rated to 400 psi and VFD-compatible. Every unit is NSF/ANSI 61 and 372 certified, conforms to the Ten States Standards and Water Systems Council PAS-97, is made in the USA, and is available AIS/BABA compliant by request.
We size pitless units and booster stations to your well casing, drop pipe, discharge configuration, lift-out load, and pump duty — designed lift-out capacities range from roughly 4,700 lb on a 5 in booster to over 200,000 lb on the largest custom units. Send us the well details and pump curve and we will spec the correct ordering configuration.
An economical way to fill water storage tanks or pressurize a distribution system. The submersible pump and motor sit below ground inside the pitless case while Monitor Municipal Controls run above grade — no vault, no pump house, and no confined-space entry. Built for municipal and commercial systems, large or small, and NSF certified.
A single submersible booster pump in the pitless case — constant-pressure tank fill or line boosting for smaller systems, VFD-controlled to hold pressure across demand.
Request availabilityTwo pumps for alternation, redundancy, and higher combined flow, staged by Monitor Municipal Controls to maintain a constant pressure setting as demand swings.
Request availabilityThree pumps for high-demand municipal duty — staged lead-lag-lag operation with full redundancy and efficient power use under low or high flow.

We size the booster to your suction pressure, target discharge pressure, flow, and pump curve, and select a simplex, duplex, or triplex arrangement with the right control package. For above-grade and retrofit sites, Monitor also offers a factory-assembled skid-mounted packaged booster — confirm the configuration on the factory submittal. Send the duty point and we will return the ordering configuration.
Beyond municipal and industrial systems, Monitor builds a complete domestic well line — sanitary well caps, pitless adapters, pitless units, tank tees, and at-the-well controls — for residential, agricultural, and rural groundwater supply.
Watertight, ventilated, and locking well caps in cast iron, ABS, and aluminum for 4 to 14 in casings — plus jet-pump caps, screened air vents, cap cable seals, and the Snorkel flood vent. Lead-free NSF/ANSI 372, PAS-97 (2017) conforming.
Request availabilitySnappy galvanized, Bulldog and brass slide-type lead-free red brass, stainless slide-type, and E-Z weld-on and clamp-on adapters for 4 to 8 in I.D. wells with 1 to 2 in drop and discharge — sanitary, below-frost service connections rated to 250 psi.
Request a quotePS submersible pitless units in threaded and Kwikonect styles for 4, 5, and 6 in wells, plus Illinois-code pressurized, flowing-well, and DQ field-cut kit configurations — and PJ jet-pump units for 2 in driven wells.
Request a quoteBreak-a-way and pump-control tank tees in lead-free red brass with type-L copper tube — gauge, switch, drain, and relief ports in 1 and 1¼ in sizes. A pressure-tank connection point without a separate tee.
Request availabilityPlug-in and screw-in at-the-well control kits that locate the pressure switch and motor control box inside the well casing, with all-weather pressure switches — for 0 to 8 ft bury depths, rated to 120 psi.
Request availabilityWelding and swagged nipples, pitless connectors, pipe holders, and 6,000 lb pipe elevators to complete the well-head connection and support safe drop-pipe handling during pump set and pull.
Request availabilityRural, off-grid, and standby water: lift, force, and drinking-fountain hand pumps with brass cylinders, flanges, and pump rod, the hand-pump diverter, and Magnum frost-proof yard hydrants in cast iron and stainless for ranch and farm duty.

Domestic water passages are lead-free galvanized cast iron, lead-free red brass, or 304 stainless steel, sealed with neoprene O-rings, and conform to NSF/ANSI 372 and Water Systems Council PAS-97 (2017). Snappy and Bulldog adapters carry a 1,000 lb hold rated at 250 psi; slide-type adapters reach 6,000 lb safe load. Most products are made in the USA; the small number of imported caps are identified on the factory submittal.
