Overview
These braided, flexible gaskets are made for high-temperature and abrasive service such as fly ash handling. Pure homogeneous graphite is bonded to a fiberglass carrier, braided over braid, die-formed and cut to fit each coupling size: Dresser’s replacement for asbestos gaskets.
Application: Fly ash, hot air and other high-temperature, abrasive lines up to 1,200°F.
- Wedge gaskets for Dresser Style 38 and Style 40 bolted couplings (Style 40 uses Style 38 followers and gaskets) on plain-end steel pipe; CIP sizes fit couplings for cast and ductile iron.
- Graphite bonded to fiberglass for thermal durability
- Sized to each coupling configuration

Coupling or fitting parts, by others: followers, bolts and middle rings are not included unless named in the option.

Dresser gasket grade overview, 2021. In Style 65, 88 and 90 compression fittings the maximum is 150°F.
Storage: Dresser rubber gaskets keep five years or more on the shelf stored cool (32 to 80°F), dark and away from ozone, sunlight and weather, lying in their normal ID-OD position with nothing stacked on them.
