Baker Pressure Tanks – Diaphragm, Expansion & Hydronic Tanks

Baker Water Systems has been building dependable water system components since 1873, and their pressure tanks are no exception. Whether you're replacing a waterlogged tank on a residential well system, specifying equipment for a new construction project, or solving thermal expansion issues on a municipal water hookup, Baker builds a tank for the job. Watermain Supply carries the complete Baker pressure tank lineup — inline, horizontal, vertical, hydronic, and thermal expansion models — from compact 2-gallon inline units all the way up to 119-gallon vertical tanks.

Every Baker diaphragm pressure tank features a fixed butyl membrane that permanently separates air and water, eliminating the waterlogging problems common with older plain-steel tanks. The steel shell is lined internally with polypropylene and finished externally with polyurethane paint over an epoxy base for long-term corrosion resistance and UV protection. Stainless steel water connections, an O-ring sealed air valve, and 100% factory testing round out a design that requires zero maintenance once installed. All potable water models are NSF 61 certified and carry a 5-year warranty from date of installation.

Sizing a pressure tank correctly matters — an undersized tank short-cycles your pump and burns it out prematurely, while an oversized tank wastes money and space. Baker's vertical tanks (16 to 119 gallons) are the most popular choice for well systems and booster pump installations, available with either 1" or 1-1/4" female NPT connections and a 90-degree elbow for easy piping. Horizontal models (5 to 26 gallons) work well in tight mechanical rooms where vertical clearance is limited. Inline models (2 to 6 gallons) are ideal as buffer tanks for booster pump systems where the primary goal is reducing pump cycling rather than storing large drawdown volume. All tanks ship factory pre-charged at 40 PSI (2–26 gallon) or 45 PSI (32–119 gallon), field-adjustable to match your system's cut-in pressure.

For closed-loop applications, Baker offers thermal expansion tanks designed to absorb the natural expansion of heated water behind a backflow preventer — a code requirement in most jurisdictions. Their hydronic expansion tanks serve residential space heating systems, rated for temperatures up to 194°F and 150 PSI working pressure. Both types use the same proven butyl diaphragm construction in a compact inline form factor.
