Overview

The Dresser Style 131 Dismantling Joint is a double-ended flanged adapter engineered for flanged piping systems where flexibility during installation and maintenance of inline equipment is essential. Where a conventional rigid flanged spool requires exact center-to-center dimensions and a pipe drop to remove a valve, pump, or meter, the Style 131 eliminates both constraints — providing up to 2 degrees of angular misalignment accommodation and between 2 in and 20 in of longitudinal adjustment through a telescoping flanged spool piece.

Both ends feature full-face AWWA C-207 Class D flanges. The inner spool piece telescopes within the outer body, allowing the installer to expand or compress the joint to the exact face-to-face dimension required by the installed equipment. Optional tie rods, integral with the joint, can be added to limit the maximum travel and prevent overextension once the equipment is installed and the line is pressurized. The result is a significant reduction in installation time and a permanent solution to the maintenance challenge of removing flanged inline equipment from fixed-length pipe runs.
