The Dresser Style 90 is a complete family of gas service fittings engineered for joining steel pipe on natural gas service lines from main to meter. Built on a time-proven compression sealing principle, every Style 90 fitting ships fully assembled and ready to install — no threading, welding, or special tools required. The boltless design uses threaded end nuts that compress resilient, cup-protected gaskets against the pipe to form a flexible, gas-tight seal rated at 150 PSI standard.

Style 90 fittings are available in cast iron and steel bodies, in 5" and 10" middle ring lengths, with a full range of configurations: straight couplings, reducing couplings, 45° and 90° ells, street ells, tees, riser tees, male adapters, line caps, and the Tap-N-Valve® tee for service connection taps. Insulating versions are available throughout the line for cathodic protection applications — including full-sleeve insulating couplings, insulating reducing couplings, insulating ells, and insulating street tees. Plastisol-coated versions are also available for buried service.

How It Works

Two heavy end nuts thread onto the fitting body, compressing specially compounded resilient gaskets against the pipe. Cup-shaped retainer rings confine and protect each gasket, preventing friction between the gasket and end nut and providing an accurate sense of tightness during installation. The result is a flexible, bottle-tight seal on plain-end pipe that requires no pipe preparation beyond cleaning.
