Overview
Dresser Style 90 compression fittings join steel pipe to steel pipe with a pressure seal. Each fitting has a cast iron or forged steel body, two resilient gaskets, two self-centering steel retainer cups and two heavy end nuts, and ships assembled. Millions are in service on natural gas service lines.
Application: Natural gas service lines, steel to steel. Dresser also lists Style 90 seal-only fittings in its water and industrial price book.
- Retainer cups protect the gasket and give an accurate feel for tightness
- Absorbs up to 1/16 in longitudinal movement per gasket
- Insulating couplings with full-sleeve insulators and sliding pipe-end spacers
- Tap-N-Valve tees retain the cut slug and form a metal-to-metal shut-off seat
What Ships and What It Needs to Run
Included: the fitting, assembled, with gaskets, retainer cups and end nuts.
Pipe prepared before install: clean, round pipe where the gaskets seat, free of gouges and loose scale.
Anchoring, by others: the fitting seals but does not restrain the pipe.

Covered for 12 months from the date of purchase under Dresser’s published warranty terms.
Working Pressure
150 PSI MAOP standard; Dresser builds other pressures on request. The fitting provides a pressure seal only. The allowable pressure on a job also depends on the pipe, its condition, the service and the workmanship.

Installation Notes
- Mark the pipe and stab it into the fitting to the full stab depth.
- On PE pipe, install the correct-SDR Dresser insert stiffener (or one qualified to DOT 192.283(b)) in every PE pipe end.
- Anchor the pipe joint wherever pull-out can occur.
- Read the Dresser installation instructions and warnings before installing.

Before You Order. High-temperature builds carry Dresser’s high-temp gasket. Anchor the pipe: the fitting provides a pressure seal only, and Dresser requires the joint to be anchored wherever pipe pullout could occur.
