Goulds Water Technology booster pumps — packaged variable-speed constant-pressure systems where the pump, drive, transducer and tank ship as one unit rather than parts you assemble. As demand rises the drive changes pump speed to hold line pressure constant, which eliminates large supply tanks and, Goulds publishes, up to 50 percent of the energy a full-speed pump would use.

ResiBoost covers residential boosting to 40 gpm on a stainless e-HM pump, with the transducer inside the controller and an LCD that stores run hours, starts and faults. Aquavar e-AB3 runs on the Xylem Smart Motor — an IE5 permanent magnet motor with the drive built in — reaching 75 gpm and 290 ft of head, and controlling up to three pumps with automatic lead/lag and alternation without an external panel or PLC. A range of pressure switches covers conventional fixed-speed systems.

Boost is the pressure the pump adds, not total system pressure — Goulds states this on its own selection table, and it is the figure most booster selections get wrong.

Worth comparing against DAB before you commit. The Esybox range self-primes to 26 ft where neither Goulds system self-primes at all, and pairs four units wirelessly with no controller or rewiring. Goulds wins on flow. We supply both and will say which fits.

Stainless e-HM pump, a ResiBoost drive pre-wired to it with the transducer inside the controller, and a diaphragm tank. LCD with stored run hours, starts and faults. Protection against dry run, over-current, open lead, low pressure, overheating, short circuit and over/under-voltage.

Built on the Xylem Smart Motor, an IE5 permanent magnet motor with the drive integrated. Goulds publishes an average 15 percent energy saving against comparable pumps. Both are single-source packages. ResiBoost is one unit and stays one unit. The e-AB3 groups to three, but the pumps must match and the grouping is designed at purchase. If the building might grow past what you buy today, read the next section before you commit.

The honest verdict. Goulds wins on flow — the e-AB3 reaches 75 GPM where the standard Esybox stops at 32, and on a high-flow duty it is the better answer. DAB wins on suction and on growth: the Esybox self-primes to 26 ft where neither Goulds system is self-priming at all, and it pairs four units wirelessly with no controller and no rewiring.
