Overview
The Dresser Style 90 Universal seals and restrains polyethylene and steel service pipe in one fitting. Tightening the nut compresses the gasket and sets a grip ring on the pipe, and the grip increases as pressure or contraction tries to pull the pipe out.
Application: Natural gas service lines joining PE (ASTM D2513) and steel pipe.

What Ships and What It Needs to Run
Included: the fitting, assembled, with gaskets, grip rings, retainer cups and nuts.
Insert stiffener required on PE pipe, ordered separately: the Dresser stiffener matched to the pipe SDR goes in every PE pipe end.
Pipe prepared before install: clean pipe ends, PE free of scratches, grooves and burrs where the gasket seals.

Covered for 12 months from the date of purchase under Dresser’s published warranty terms.
Working Pressure
150 PSI maximum sealing pressure unless marked otherwise on the body; for reducing sizes the smaller diameter’s rating applies. The allowable pressure on a job also depends on the pipe, its condition, the service and the workmanship.

Installation Notes
- Clean steel pipe ends to bare metal; PE pipe must be free of scratches, grooves and burrs for 4 in (5 in bodies).
- Install the Dresser insert stiffener in every PE pipe end, checking its SDR against the pipe.
- Mark each pipe 2 in from the end and stab until the mark is at or inside the nut.
- Leave at least 1/2 in between steel pipe ends; never butt pipe ends in the fitting.
- Tighten each nut while holding the body, with a 100 lb pull on the recommended wrench.
