Overview
The Grundfos JP PS is a single-stage centrifugal jet pump built for domestic and light commercial water supply where the water source sits above the pump's suction limit — a shallow well, driven point, cistern, break tank, lake or stream. A built-in ejector with guide vanes gives the pump its self-priming capability and a suction lift of up to 26 ft, and the mounted pressure switch starts and stops the pump on demand so the system runs unattended.
The pump housing, housing ring and seal disc are AISI 304 stainless steel; the impeller, diffuser and venturi are composite. Inlet and outlet are both 1 in NPT female, with the outlet on top for a compact footprint in a pump house, basement or utility room. Every model is dual voltage and ships wired for 115 V or 230 V selection in the field, and each pressure switch leaves the factory set at 30-50 psi.

Motor and Protection
The single-phase motor is air-cooled and runs on oversized, sealed, greased-for-life ball bearings. Current- and temperature-dependent protection is built in: if the pump runs dry, is blocked, or is otherwise overloaded, the internal thermal switch cuts out and resets automatically once the motor has cooled. No external motor protection is required. The ejector includes a clean-out port so a blocked nozzle can be cleared without dismantling the pump end.
Selection & SizingA jet pump on suction lift is limited to about 26 ft of vertical lift from the water surface to the pump — measure the static water level before selecting, and move to a convertible pump with a down-hole ejector or a submersible if you are past that. A diaphragm pressure tank is required and is not supplied with the pump; set the tank pre-charge 2 psi below cut-in (28 psi for the factory 30-50 psi switch). Use an inlet pipe larger than 1 in if the run exceeds 32.8 ft or the suction lift exceeds 13.1 ft, and fit a foot valve with strainer at the intake. Send us your static water level, run length, and fixture count and we will size the pump, tank and inlet piping together.
