Replacement and new-build Grundfos stainless steel pump ends for 4 in to 10 in wells, from the 5 GPM SP 5S to the 1,100 GPM SP 1100S, plus the SPE ends for Grundfos permanent magnet motors. Each pump end is matched to its motor by horsepower and size, with the head at rated flow shown wherever Grundfos publishes it and engineering-led selection on every order.

Grundfos SP pump ends are the hydraulic half of the Grundfos SP submersible: the stainless steel stages, check valve and inlet, without the motor. They rebuild a worn Grundfos SP on its existing motor, or pair with a new Grundfos MS or MMS motor for a new well. The series name is the rated flow: an SP 35S is rated at 35 GPM, an SP 625S at 625 GPM. SPE pump ends run on Grundfos 6 in permanent magnet motors and a CUE drive.
We supply the full SP 4 in, 6 in and 10 in ranges and the SPE 6, 8 and 10 in pump ends from the Grundfos 2026 price list, together with the Grundfos motors, control boxes and kits that complete the pump. Send us the old nameplate or the duty point and we will confirm the pump end and motor before you order. Call 1-888.510.4036. Genuine Grundfos equipment, factory-new in original packaging — sold and supported by Watermain Supply, an independent industrial supplier.
The four questions drillers and owners ask first, answered from Grundfos’s published data.
Covered for 24 months from the date of installation, but not more than 30 months from the date of manufacture, under Grundfos’s limited warranty in the SP/SPE installation and operating instructions. The full terms are on the Data Sheet tab of every pump end.
Stainless steel stages, shaft and check valve, water-lubricated bearings with sand channels, and upthrust protection on every build, from a built-in stop ring or hydraulic balancing.
SP 4 in ends fit 4 in wells on a 4 in motor; from the 16S up, 7-1/2 HP and larger builds are also offered on 6 in motors for 6 in wells. SP 6 in ends need a 6 in well (8 in for builds on an 8 in motor); SP 10 in ends a 10 in well. Every pump end needs a motor of its horsepower, plus the motor’s control.
Enter the pumping level, flow and pressure; the calculator returns the total head and the horsepower class to look for.

The Grundfos 6 in SP submersible pump
How to dismantle and assemble Grundfos SP pumps
Nineteen listings, one per flow class or well size. Pick the flow class, then the horsepower and model in the selector; the head at rated flow is in the model value wherever Grundfos publishes it.

Domestic, farm and small system wells
Nine flow classes from the SP 5S to the SP 77S. Low-flow classes run on 4 in motors; from the 16S up, 7-1/2 HP and larger builds are offered on 6 in motors, and builds above 10 HP take a 6 in motor in a 6 in well.

Irrigation, municipal and industrial wells
SP 90S, 160S, 230S/240S and 300S for 6 in wells, and SP 625S, 800S and 1100S for 10 in wells. The motor size moves up with horsepower, from 4 in on the smallest 90S builds to 10 in on the largest 1100S.

Variable-speed wells on a CUE drive
Pump ends for Grundfos SPE pumps, built for the Grundfos 6 in permanent magnet motor and run on a CUE drive with a sine-wave filter. One listing per well size.
Head at rated flow is the range across the builds in each listing, from the Grundfos data booklet, rounded down. Read the build you need on its product page.

Total head is what the pump must add: the lift from the pumping water level, the pressure you want at the tank, and the friction in the drop pipe.
Total head = pumping level + (pressure in PSI × 2.31) + drop-pipe friction.
Then the motor. The pump end’s horsepower and motor size set the motor: browse the Grundfos MS and MMS motors. Single-phase 3-wire motors need a control box; three-phase motors need a starter or drive.
Check the well. Set the pump at least 3 ft below the maximum drawdown, never with the motor below the top of the screen or within 5 ft of the well bottom, and keep the cooling flow past the motor that Grundfos lists for it.
Run the Submersible Calculator for the total head and horsepower class, or send us the numbers.

Standard SP pumps are AISI 304 (EN 1.4301) stainless steel; most series are also built in AISI 316 and 904L for aggressive water, available to order.
All bearings are water-lubricated and have a squared shape, so any sand particles leave the pump with the pumped liquid.
Grundfos 4 in pumps with radial impellers have a priming screw that keeps the bearings lubricated and prevents dry running at startup.
A built-in stop ring or hydraulic balancing stops the chamber stack from rising at a low-pressure startup, protecting pump and motor.
Every SP pump end carries its own check valve in the valve casing, so the column stays full between starts.
Our selector shows the head at rated flow from the Grundfos booklet in the model value wherever Grundfos publishes it, so the build is chosen on the duty, not the stage count.
A pump end runs on a Grundfos motor of its horsepower. These are the parts that go with it.

Genuine Grundfos parts, factory-new in original packaging.
Send the pumping level, flow, pressure and power. We check the pump end and motor against Grundfos’s published curves and electrical data before you order, and a factory submittal is available on request.
We also sell A.Y. McDonald, DAB and Franklin Electric submersibles. If a Grundfos build is not the right fit for the well, we will say so and quote the one that is.
Net-30 for qualified contractor, drilling, municipal and industrial accounts. PO and credit applications handled in-house.
Control boxes, motor leads, nut and bolt kits and MP 204 motor protectors are listed alongside, matched by part number.
Pump end, Grundfos motor, control box, lead and nut and bolt kit, matched by part number, so the pump goes together at the well.

Common questions from drillers, pump installers and well owners choosing a Grundfos pump end.
Grundfos covers its products for 24 months from the date of installation, but not more than 30 months from the date of manufacture, to the original user, under the limited warranty printed in the SP/SPE installation and operating instructions.
No. A pump end is the hydraulic section with its check valve. It needs a Grundfos motor of the same horsepower and size, plus the motor’s control box, starter or drive, drop cable and splice kit.
The series is the rated flow in GPM: a 35S is rated at 35 GPM. Our selector shows the head each build adds at that rated flow, so you choose the build by the total head you need.
Yes, where the horsepower and motor size match the pump end. Send us the motor nameplate and the old pump nameplate and we will confirm the replacement.
The SP 4 in pump ends from 5S to 77S on a 4 in motor. From the 16S up, builds above 10 HP, and the 6 in motor options at 7-1/2 and 10 HP, need a 6 in well; the selector shows the motor size on every build.
SP pump ends run on standard Grundfos MS and MMS induction motors. SPE pump ends run on Grundfos 6 in permanent magnet motors with a CUE drive and sine-wave filter, at variable speed.
The current Grundfos data booklet prints head values for the 240S, the newer version of the series, and not for the 230S. The 230S builds show their rated flow; ask us for the curve.
Add the pumping water level, the pressure you want at the tank times 2.31, and the friction in the drop pipe. The Submersible Calculator does the arithmetic.
Grundfos SP 4 in reaches 25 HP with stainless stages; DAB S4 runs to 90 GPM with sand-resistant technopolymer impellers. In 6 in, Grundfos runs from 1 to 75 HP and adds SPE variable-speed ends; A.Y. McDonald lists 8 in pump ends.
Send the old nameplate, or the flow, pumping level and pressure you need, with the well size and the power at the well. We will reply with the pump end, the motor and the parts that complete the pump.
