Grundfos SPE 6 in Submersible Pump End

These are the Grundfos SPE replacement pump ends: the stainless steel hydraulic end of an SPE variable speed submersible, with its built-in check valve, sold without the motor. Pump and impellers are AISI 304 stainless steel. The SPE runs on a Grundfos 6 in permanent magnet motor driven by a Grundfos CUE drive; Grundfos rates the motors 4-pole, 3600 RPM, three-phase 460V, operating on 410V.

Use one to rebuild an SPE installation on a sound permanent magnet motor. The complete SPE 6 in pump, with its motor, is listed separately.

Each pump end rebuilds one SPE pump. For a duty/standby pair or a different flow class, send us the duty and we will size it with you.

The model code reads series, motor horsepower and stages: SPE160S400-15 is the SPE 160S for the 40 HP permanent magnet motor, with 15 stages. Choose the motor horsepower first, then the model; each model shows the head it adds at its rated flow. Order by part number; every build is in the Models & Ratings table.

• SPE 230S and SPE 240S: the Grundfos price list shows the SPE 240S as the new model and part number beside the current SPE 230S, at the same list price. Both are listed here under their own part numbers. The SPE 240S is the version in the current Grundfos SPE data booklet; the SPE 230S is not in it, so its selector value shows the rated flow without a head figure.
• SPE 240S names: the price list prints the new 240S part numbers under SPE 230S model names, and Grundfos Product Center names them with standard SP codes (for example 240S200-6). They are named here by series, motor and stages from the SPE data booklet (for example SPE240S250-6 for the 6-stage build on the 25 HP motor); the part number is the one to order.
• SPE 90S: the SPE 90S replacement pump ends carry the same Grundfos part numbers as the standard SP 90S pump ends (93040590 and up), so they are ordered from the Grundfos 90S SP 6 in pump end listing.
• SPE230S250-7: the Grundfos price list pairs this build with replacement motor 99843440, a larger motor than the model code suggests; the part numbers are shown as the price list prints them, and we confirm the motor with Grundfos at order.
• SPE230S100-2, SPE230S250-4, SPE230S250-6, SPE230S250-7, SPE230S400-10, SPE230S400-12, SPE230S500-15: no head figure in the SPE data booklet, so the selector shows the rated flow only; ask us for the curve.

Part numbers, motor horsepower and replacement motor part numbers: Grundfos US price list, effective January 1, 2026 (SPE replacement pump ends and PM replacement motors). Nominal head: Grundfos SPE data booklet, 60 Hz, complete-pump tables for the same series and stage count. Discharge, pump-end diameter and length, and net weight: Grundfos Product Center (no net weight published for some builds).

The nominal head in the Models & Ratings table is the total head Grundfos publishes for each SPE build at its rated flow, at full speed, in feet. On the CUE drive the pump runs at variable speed, so it covers duties below the full-speed curve. Pick a model whose head covers your pumping level plus the pressure you need at the surface (2.31 ft per psi) plus pipe friction.
