This Is the Shaft Seal Kit OnlyThe shaft seal kit and the gasket kit are separate products and are ordered separately. Buying one does not bring the other with it. A full strip-down usually needs both — ask us and we will quote the pair against your pump.
What This Is

A shaft seal kit is the replacement cartridge seal for a Grundfos CR, CRI or CRN vertical multistage pump. The cartridge is changed as a complete unit: the faces arrive pre-set, so there is no lapping, no measuring and no setting of spring length on the bench.

Two kits cover the whole CR range, split by pump size. The smaller kit fits the CR, CRI and CRN 1s, 1, 3 and 5 frames; the larger fits the 10, 15 and 20 frames. Both are listed here — pick the group your pump falls in.

The part number is the Grundfos order number and is what ships. Order against the pump you have, not the pump you are replacing it with.

Choosing the Material
  • HQQE — silicon carbide faces with EPDM elastomers.
  • HQQV — silicon carbide faces with FKM (Viton) elastomers.

In the Grundfos code the last letter is the elastomer — E = EPDM, V = FKM (Viton). Match what is already in the pump. If you are pumping water and the pump was built with an E code, the E kit is the one.

Fitment

CR, CRI, CRN 1s, 1, 3, 5; CR, CRI, CRN 10, 15, 20.

Match the pump model and existing seal or elastomer specification. The pump nameplate carries the model and the seal code; send us both and we will confirm the kit before you order.

Before You OrderConfirm the pump family and size group against the nameplate, and confirm the elastomer code. A kit from the wrong size group will not fit, and a kit in the wrong elastomer will fit but will not last in the liquid the pump was specified for.
