Complete Grundfos stainless steel submersibles for 6, 8 and 10 in wells: the SP 90S to SP 1100S on Grundfos MS and MMS motors, and the variable-speed SPE on a permanent magnet motor. Built for irrigation, community water systems and industrial supply wells, with the head at rated flow on every build and engineering-led selection on every order.

Grundfos SP 6 in and larger pumps are complete submersibles: a stainless steel SP pump end assembled with a Grundfos motor of the right horsepower and diameter, under one part number. The series name is the rated flow, so an SP 300S is rated at 300 GPM and an SP 1100S at 1,100 GPM. The SPE versions run the same hydraulics on a Grundfos 6 in permanent magnet motor and a CUE drive, so the pump speeds up and slows down with demand.
We supply thirteen series from the Grundfos 2026 US price list, in single-phase builds to 5 HP and three-phase 230 V and 460 V builds to 250 HP, together with the control boxes, drives, motor protection and leads that complete the installation. Send the well log or the duty point and we will confirm the series, build and motor before you order. Call 1-888.510.4036 or email sales@watermainsupply.com. Genuine Grundfos equipment, factory-new in original packaging — sold and supported by Watermain Supply, an independent industrial supplier.
The four questions drillers and owners ask first, answered from Grundfos’s published data.
Covered for 24 months from the date of installation, but not more than 30 months from the date of manufacture, under Grundfos’s limited warranty in the SP/SPE installation and operating instructions. Three-phase motors need three-leg ambient-compensated quick-trip overload protection for the warranty to apply.
AISI 304 stainless steel stages, shaft and check valve, water-lubricated bearings with sand channels, and upthrust protection on every build. The motor is matched to the pump end at the factory.
SP 90S to 300S fit a 6 in well; builds on an 8 in motor need an 8 in well. SP 385S and 475S need an 8 in well, and SP 625S, 800S and 1100S a 10 in well. Single-phase stops at 5 HP; every larger build is three-phase, and every SPE build is 460 V three-phase.
Enter the pumping level, flow and pressure; the calculator returns the total head and the horsepower class to look for. Or send the numbers to sales@watermainsupply.com · 1-888.510.4036.
Run the CalculatorThirteen listings, one per series or well size. Pick the series, then the horsepower, voltage and model in the selector; the head at rated flow is in the model value.

5 series · 90S, 160S, 230S, 240S, 300S
The workhorse range for 6 in wells, from a 1 HP 90S to a 75 HP 160S. Small builds run on a 4 in motor, mid builds on a 6 in motor, and the deepest 90S and 160S builds on an 8 in motor.

5 series · 385S, 475S, 625S, 800S, 1100S
High-flow pumps for 8 in and 10 in wells. The 385S and 475S suit 8 in casing; the 625S, 800S and 1100S suit 10 in casing, with the 1100S reaching 250 HP on a 10 in motor.

3 listings · 6, 8 and 10 in wells
The SP hydraulics on a Grundfos 6 in permanent magnet motor, run by a CUE drive with a sine-wave filter. Speed follows demand, so one pump covers a wide flow band and holds a set pressure.
Head at rated flow is the range across the builds in each listing, from the Grundfos 60 Hz data booklets. Read the build you need on its product page.

Verdict. Grundfos is the one line here sold as a complete pump, which saves matching a motor and carries the longest warranty term of the three. Franklin wins on sandy and corrosive water, with ductile iron STS turbines to 1,200 GPM and a 316 SS SR range. A.Y. McDonald lists a 500 GPM pump end for 8 in wells, above the Grundfos 475S, and matching Baker motors to 10 in.

Flow first, then total dynamic head, then the build.
1. Flow. For irrigation, take the system design flow (sprinkler package or emitter count). For a water system, take peak demand from the system engineer. The series is the nearest rated flow at or above it.
2. Total dynamic head (TDH) = pumping water level + rise from the well head to the discharge point + discharge pressure × 2.31 + friction in the drop pipe and line. Use the pumping level under drawdown, not the static level.
3. Build. Pick the build whose head at rated flow is at or just above your TDH, then confirm the casing fits the motor diameter and the supply matches the voltage.

Stages, shaft, check valve, inlet and sleeve in AISI 304 stainless steel, for long life and resistance to aggressive water.
Water-lubricated bearings with sand channels carry abrasive particles out of the bearing path instead of grinding them in.
A built-in stop ring or hydraulic balancing protects the pump at start-up, when the flow is highest and the head lowest.
A spring-loaded check valve in the discharge holds the column and prevents back-spin when the pump stops.
Complete pumps ship with a Grundfos MS or MMS motor of the right horsepower and diameter, so the coupling and thrust rating are correct from day one.
SPE pumps run on a Grundfos permanent magnet motor and CUE drive, holding constant pressure across a wide flow band from one pump.
A complete pump includes the pump end and motor. These are ordered separately.

Genuine Grundfos parts keep the motor warranty conditions intact. Send the pump nameplate and we will confirm each part number.
Send the well log, flow and pressure. We work the total dynamic head, pick the build and check the casing, voltage and motor before you order.
We also supply Franklin Electric and A.Y. McDonald for large wells. If Grundfos is not the right fit for the well, we will say so and show you what is.
Contractor, driller, irrigation and municipal accounts on approved credit. Ask us to set one up.
Pump ends, motors, leads, control boxes, drives and motor protection are listed alongside the pumps.
Every listing is the US 60 Hz build with NPT discharge and the part number from the Grundfos 2026 US price list.
We size, quote and support from Houston for drillers, growers, contractors and utilities.
Grundfos covers these pumps for 24 months from the date of installation, but not more than 30 months from the date of manufacture, under Grundfos’s limited warranty in the SP/SPE installation and operating instructions. On three-phase motors the warranty requires three-leg ambient-compensated quick-trip overload protection.
The pump end assembled to a Grundfos motor of the listed horsepower and diameter. Single-phase builds also need an SA-SPM6 control box; three-phase builds need a starter or drive with quick-trip overloads, and an MP 204 adds monitoring. SPE pumps need a CUE drive and a sine-wave filter. Drop pipe, cable and the pitless or discharge head are by others.
Yes, the SP 90S to 300S come in 230 V single-phase 3-wire builds up to 5 HP. Every larger build, and every SPE, is three-phase.
SP runs at fixed speed on an induction motor. SPE uses the same hydraulics on a permanent magnet motor and CUE drive, so the speed changes with demand and the pump can hold a constant pressure.
SP 90S to 300S fit a 6 in well, or an 8 in well on builds with an 8 in motor. SP 385S and 475S need an 8 in well; SP 625S, 800S and 1100S a 10 in well. Confirm the casing inside diameter and any crooked sections with us before ordering.
Work out flow and total dynamic head: pumping level, rise to the discharge, pressure × 2.31 and friction. Then pick the build whose head at rated flow is at or just above that number. The Submersible Calculator does the math.
Yes. The SP and SPE pump ends and the MS and MMS motors have their own listings, matched by horsepower and diameter.
Yes. Send the well log, pumping level, flow and pressure to sales@watermainsupply.com or call 1-888.510.4036 and we will confirm the build, motor and controls.
Send the well log, the flow and the pressure you need. We will match the series, build, motor and controls.
