What Ships and What It Needs to Run

Included: the pump end and Baker 4 in motor, assembled, with the AutoDRIVE constant pressure drive matched to the motor, and the pressure switch (APS models) or pressure transducer with 10 ft wire (APT models). The drive model for each build is in the Models table.

Power: 230V single-phase supply from a circuit breaker for every build; the three-phase builds take single-phase power and the drive makes three-phase for the motor. Breaker sizes are under Before You Buy.

Sized at install: drop cable, splice kit and the pressure relief valve shown in the manufacturer’s installation diagram.

Overview

The AutoPAC is Baker’s constant pressure well package: a 24000 Series 4 in submersible pump, a Baker motor of the same horsepower, and the AutoDRIVE variable frequency drive. The drive holds a set pressure by changing the pump speed, which allows a smaller pressure tank and a quick, simple installation; setup takes 5 steps or less on the drive’s backlit display.

This listing is the V - 7 GPM class: 1/2 to 2 HP, with pressure switch and transducer control. The AutoDRIVE is American made and housed in a NEMA 3R steel enclosure rated for outdoor use.

A.Y. McDonald Warranty

Pump and motor: covered for 5 years from the date of manufacture in potable water applications, and 3 years from the date of manufacture in other applications, under A.Y. McDonald’s published terms for Baker submersible motors and assembled submersible pumps. The AutoDRIVE and pressure control fall under A.Y. McDonald’s standard limited warranty: 2 years from the date of manufacture or 1 year from installation, whichever comes first.

Room to Grow

One pump and one drive per well. Need more head later? Step up in horsepower within the V - 7 GPM class; the drive model changes with the motor (see the Models table). Need more flow? Move to a higher flow class of the AutoPAC 24000 Series; every class uses the same 1 1/4 in NPT discharge.

Performance — Will It Do What You Need?

Total head is everything the pump lifts against: the vertical lift from the pumping water level to the discharge, the pressure you set on the drive (2.31 ft for every PSI), and friction in the drop pipe. The drive slows the pump when demand falls, so the curve below is the most the pump delivers at full speed.
