Baker Sump Pump Accessories: The Complete Buyer’s Guide

Raiser blocks, float switches, basin extensions, alarms, and covers — the accessories that keep your pump system running right.

Why Accessories Matter

The right accessories extend your pump’s life, prevent nuisance failures, and give you warning before a problem becomes a flooded basement. Baker offers a focused lineup of accessories specifically designed for their DuraMAC sump, sewage, and effluent pumps. Every item here is purpose-built — no generic parts that “sort of fit.”

Pump Raiser Block — 5000BLK

A durable ABS block that mounts to the pump base, raising the pump off the bottom of the basin.

  • Prevents clogging — lifts the intake away from sediment that settles at the basin floor
  • Prevents switch malfunction — keeps the float switch clear of debris
  • Replaces bricks — unlike bricks, it won’t crumble, shift, or corrode
  • Fits all DuraMAC submersible pumps (excludes sewage pumps)
Pro Tip

If you’re installing a new sump pump and the basin has any sediment or fine gravel, add the 5000BLK. It’s cheap insurance against the #1 cause of premature pump failure: debris getting sucked into the impeller.

Basin Extension — 5000EXT

An 18″ diameter × 6″ high extension ring that adds depth to an existing sump basin. When your current basin isn’t deep enough for proper pump and float switch operation, the extension gives you the extra height without tearing out and replacing the entire basin.

Replacement Float Switches

Baker’s replacement float switches use piggy-back plug design — the switch plugs into the wall outlet, and the pump plugs into the switch. This means you can diagnose a bad switch over the phone (bypass the switch by plugging the pump directly into the outlet) and replace the switch without replacing the pump.

Model Type Cord Length Connection
5000-V--10 Vertical Float 10′ Piggy-back plug
5000-V--25 Vertical Float 25′ Piggy-back plug
5000-T--10 Tethered Float 10′ Piggy-back plug
5000-T--25 Tethered Float 25′ Piggy-back plug
Diagnostic Trick

If your pump isn’t turning on: unplug the float switch from the wall, then plug the pump directly into the outlet. If the pump runs, your switch is bad — order a replacement. If the pump doesn’t run, the problem is in the pump itself.

Wastewater Pump Accessories

For Baker’s Wastewater-series pumps (sewage, effluent, grinder), additional accessories are available:

Pumpmaster & Verticalmaster Float Switches

Mechanically activated float switches for direct control of single-phase pumps. Available in various cord lengths (10′–30′), pump-up and pump-down configurations, with or without piggy-back plugs.

Tank Alert Alarm Systems

High-water alarm systems that warn you when water levels exceed normal operating range:

Model Type Enclosure Features
Tank Alert XT High water alarm NEMA 3R (outdoor) SignalMaster float, 15′ cord, pipe clamp mount
Tank Alert AB High water alarm NEMA 1 (indoor) Auto reset, battery backup, SignalMaster float
