What Is a Sewage Pump?

A sewage pump (also called a sewage ejector) handles raw, untreated wastewater — including human waste and toilet paper — and pumps it up to the main sewer line or septic tank when gravity drainage isn’t possible. The most common scenario: a basement bathroom below the main sewer line. The toilet, shower, and sink drain into a sealed sewage basin, and the sewage pump pushes everything up and out.

The defining specification of a sewage pump is its 2″ solids handling capability and 2″ discharge — it must pass solid waste without clogging. Baker builds sewage pumps in both DuraMAC (residential) and Wastewater (commercial) families.

DuraMAC Sewage Pumps

Cast iron construction, ½ HP, 120V, stainless steel vortex impeller, 2″ discharge, 2″ solids handling. 80 GPM at 0′ head, 60 GPM at 10′. All models are 3,450 RPM with thermal overload protection and a 3-year warranty.

Wastewater Sewage Pumps (Commercial-Grade)

Baker’s Wastewater sewage pumps are built for serious duty: residential developments, hospitals, schools, campgrounds, and commercial lift stations. Oil-filled motors, ductile iron vortex impellers, and optional double seal with seal failure detection. Up to 215 GPM and 77′ TDH. 3-year warranty from date of manufacture.
