Franklin Electric 6 in STS Submersible Turbine Pump End - Ductile Iron

The STS Series is a submersible turbine: premium ductile iron castings, investment cast stainless steel impellers and spiral cutlass rubber intermediate bearings for wells with abrasive water. The STS family covers 90 to 1,450 GPM at best efficiency point and total dynamic head up to 2,300 ft, from 5 to 200 HP.

Open your flow class and find your model. Total head is the lift from the pumping water level, plus the pressure you need at the top (2.31 ft for every PSI), plus friction in the column pipe. Pick the model whose head at your flow covers that total.

• 10 ft minimum submergence above inlet

• 350 psi standard (675 psi double bolted) maximum working pressure
• 150 PPM maximum allowable amount of sand

• Install in a developed well; undeveloped water carries sand that wears the pump.
• Set the pump suction at least 10 ft below the expected drawdown level and at least 5 ft off the bottom of the well.
• Install a check valve immediately above the pump and another above ground; add one in the drop pipe every 100 ft of setting beyond the first 100 ft.
• Support the riser at the wellhead and keep the cable clear of clamps and the casing while lowering.
