Included: the pump end only; no motor.
Motor required, ordered separately. A Franklin 4 in motor of the same horsepower: 2-wire, 3-wire single-phase or three-phase, plus the motor control it needs (control box, starter or drive).
Check valve: the 35 to 90 GPM HE pump ends have no built-in check valve (the 10 and 20 GPM pump ends carry a removable one); the owner’s manual calls for a positive-sealing check valve within 25 ft of the pump.
Drop cable and splice kit: sized to your setting depth and ordered separately.
Franklin’s E-Series is a 4 in submersible effluent pump for filtered effluent service, aeration, and ornamental fountains and waterfalls. The water path through the discharge is designed to pass particulate, so the pump keeps running efficiently in effluent duty.
The 10 and 20 GPM units run on a shaft bearing with built-in dry-run protection and carry a removable built-in check valve; the high-flow 35 to 90 GPM units use a ceramic sleeve bearing and have no built-in check valve. It replaces Franklin’s discontinued original FPS high-capacity models.
Covered by Franklin Electric’s Limited Warranty for 12 months from the date of original purchase.

Find your horsepower in the row, then read across. Total head is the lift from the pumping water level, plus the pressure you want at the tank (2.31 ft for every PSI), plus friction in the drop pipe. The output tables give the flow you get at a 30/50 PSI pressure switch for your depth to water.

Total head read from the published curves in Franklin’s FPS Residential Submersible Catalog (MF5060), pp. 67, 69, 71, 73, 75 and 77, digitized and rounded down to whole feet, at the plotted flows nearest 20%, 50% and 75% of where the curves end. 0 GPM is Franklin’s printed shut-off. Feet of head = PSI × 2.31. Output tables as printed in MF5060, pp. 68, 70, 72, 74, 76 and 78, at the 30 and 50 PSI rows; Franklin rounds them to whole GPM. Drop-pipe friction is not included (manufacturer note). — marks a point Franklin does not print.
The 35 GPM curves rise a few feet above the printed shut-off at low flow before they fall, so a low-flow column can read slightly above the shut-off. The 1/2 HP builds in the 45 and 60 GPM classes do not reach 30 PSI in Franklin’s tables; their head is in the head table.
Best operating range: Franklin shades the best-efficiency range on each published curve and prints no figures for it. The curves are in the image gallery.
