Overview
The Cerus X-Drive is Franklin Electric’s drive for variable-torque pumping. The stand-alone drive is rated NEMA 1 for indoor use. For panel builders it converts to an open-type drive, which raises the ambient operating limit from 113 °F to 122 °F and saves on panel cooling. Its compact form factor keeps panels small.
Choose by output amps and voltage class. Where the table shows a single-phase figure, the drive also runs on single-phase input at that reduced output.

Application firmware — presets for submersible pumps, centrifugal pumps, cooling tower and circulating pumps for quick startups and protection.

Advanced pump control — multi-VFD control of up to 8 drives, pre-PID pipe fill, a second PID loop, dual demand and pipe leak protection.

Phase conversion — UL-listed single-phase or three-phase input.

Harmonics — built-in DC choke from 50 HP at 230V and 60 HP at 460V and 575V.

Automation — built-in PLC; Modbus RTU or ASCII and BACnet MS/TP; optional Ethernet IP and Modbus TCP/IP or FE Connect Bluetooth cards.

Display — UL Type 4X removable display, remote mountable on a standard CAT-5 cable.

FE Connect app — with the optional Bluetooth card and firmware 1.2 or later: phone-based setup, monitoring and troubleshooting.

MagForce ready — quick startups and protection with Franklin MagForce permanent-magnet motors.

Before You OrderSize the drive on motor full-load amps, not horsepower alone, and allow for single-phase derating where used. A line reactor is not needed where the drive has the built-in DC choke (50 HP and up at 230V, 60 HP and up at 460V and 575V).
