Overview

The FPS IGPH Series is Franklin Electric's dual-stage, high-head grinder pump for the toughest residential and commercial wastewater service: sewage lift stations, and low-pressure sewer systems for housing developments and lake communities where high vertical lift or long force mains are present.

Two brass impellers in series (dual-stage hydraulics) build the head. Ahead of them a cutting mechanism grinds solids at 414,000 cuts per minute. The 2 HP, 3450 RPM motor has built-in overload protection, a carbon/ceramic mechanical seal and a short, deflection-resistant shaft, in epoxy-coated cast iron.

The start and run components are encased in an oil-free chamber, so the pump starts without a control panel. The float builds (515713, 515701) run automatically; the no-float builds (515716, 515711) are for basins where level is switched externally.

IGPH or IGPHR? Both are 2 HP dual-stage pumps. The IGPH is rated across its whole curve, from 40 GPM at 10 ft to 10 GPM at 175 ft. The IGPHR is rated only in the high-head region above the line Franklin marks at about 100 ft, and draws 16 FLA against the IGPH 18.5 FLA single-phase. Choose the IGPHR only where the total head stays above 100 ft.

Growth & Multiplex

Runs as a simplex station, or as a duplex with two pumps alternating from a duplex grinder panel. The IGPH-M231 is the high-head option in the PowerSewer V4PS station.

Performance — Will It Do What You Need?

Find your total dynamic head across the top: the vertical lift from the basin to the highest point of the force main plus friction in the pipe. The figure below it is gallons per minute at that head.

The dual-stage IGPH keeps 30 GPM at 100 ft, where the single-stage IGP is down to 20 GPM, which is why Franklin specifies it for long force mains and high vertical lift.
