Franklin Electric 15VRL Vertical Multistage Pump

The 15VRL is a vertical multi-stage centrifugal pump from the Franklin Electric VR Series, used for water supply and pressure boosting, water treatment, light industry, irrigation and agriculture, and HVAC. In-line suction and discharge connections with round flanges keep the installation compact on a small footprint.

All wetted components are 316 stainless steel (N version). The pump end mounts a standard NEMA motor on an oversized thrust bearing, so special high-thrust motors are not required.

Every variant on this page is a complete pump with motor: Baldor standard motors in ODP or TEFC enclosures, single or three phase. The three-phase motors are premium efficiency and inverter-duty rated.

VRL models are the 4-pole (1800 RPM) version of the VR hydraulics. Nominal flow is half the 2-pole figure: 45 GPM here against 90 GPM for the 15VR.

The 15VRL is a single pump. For duplex, triplex or quadplex pressure boosting on one skid, Franklin offers the VR SpecPAK pressure boosting system with 316 stainless steel wetted components.

The part number is the full model code. Example: 15VRL0100NF1A-A8D3. Before the dash: series and speed (15VRL), number of stages (two digits), impeller trim (00 = no trim, 1A = one stage trimmed, 2A = two stages trimmed), casing (N = 316 SS, G = cast iron with 316 SS hydraulics), connection (F = round flange), seal type (1 = graphite/SiC EPDM) and motor type (A = NEMA). After the dash: motor frame and rating letter, speed (6 = 3600 RPM, 8 = 1800 RPM), enclosure (D = premium ODP, E = premium TEFC) and voltage (1 = 115/230 1Ph, 2 = 230 1Ph, 3 = 230/460 3Ph, 5 = 575 3Ph).

Franklin publishes 15VRL performance as curves, so this page does not reproduce figures read off a plot. Franklin’s selection method: choose the family whose best-efficiency flow is closest to your duty (45 GPM nominal here), then the stage count nearest the head you need at that flow, and read NPSH required and horsepower from the same curve.

• System pressure — inlet pressure plus the pump’s shut-off head must stay within the flange and piping rating.
• Suction — available NPSH must exceed the pump’s required NPSH at maximum flow. The VR catalog gives the lift calculation.
• Liquid — ratings are for clean water, +14 °F to +248 °F. For a different viscosity or specific gravity, ask us before ordering.
