Description

The Smith-Blair Style 431 RazorLock wide range restrained coupling joins and restrains plain-end pipe with a single Dual Drive bolt on each end - no thrust blocks, tie rods, or separate joint restraints required. Each size covers the full OD span of ductile iron, PVC, PVCO, steel, and cast iron pipe within its range, so one coupling on the truck replaces several sized couplings plus restraint hardware.

RazorLock installs stab-fit out of the box with no disassembly. As the Dual Drive bolt is tightened, flex points cast into the flanges bend the followers uniformly, compressing the gasket and the one-piece wedge-shaped grip ring around the pipe without point loading or egging. The grip ring's multi-length teeth distribute thrust loads, and engagement increases with internal pressure. The Dual Drive bolt tightens with a standard 1/2 in square drive or a standard-depth heavy hex socket. RazorLock builds on the EZ Maxi-Grip natural gas restraint platform proven in hundreds of thousands of installations, and carries UL certification for health effects (MH59934).
