Overview
The IO 101 is designed for solar-powered SQFlex systems. It enables the connection of a backup generator in case of insufficient solar energy — useful in periods of insufficient solar energy, for an immediate requirement for water, or for water at night. The system switches to operation via generator when the generator is started; if the generator is stopped manually or runs out of fuel, the IO 101 automatically changes back to solar.
The IO 101 also switches off the voltage supply to the pump and works as a box that connects all necessary cables: generator, protective earth, power from the solar array, and pump. It is also the switch box Grundfos specifies for CRFlex solar surface pumps with a backup generator.

The generator must be running steadily before the pump is started. Switching between solar power and generator is made manually, by starting the generator; the return to solar when it stops is automatic.
Before You OrderThe 8.4 A rating matches SQFlex pumps up to 1400 W and both CRFlex motor sizes; the 2500 W SQFlex models draw up to 12 A, so confirm the switch box with us before pairing them. Size the generator at motor input power P1 plus 50 %, and at least P1 plus 10 %. The array side is limited to 225 VDC through this box. A solar array is live whenever there is daylight — isolate every DC and AC source before wiring. Supplied for installation in the United States and shipped to U.S. addresses only.
