Description

The JCM 412 fabricated carbon steel tapping sleeve makes larger taps on all types of pipe with a built-in range that fits more than one pipe class, so the right sleeve is on hand more often. The heavy steel sleeve reinforces the pipe directly, eliminating flexing opposite the tap, and weighs less than a cast iron sleeve.

A large-section gasket in a retaining cavity makes a positive initial seal that increases with line pressure. The flanged outlet has an alignment recess for the tapping valve. Choose shop coat with alloy bolts, or fusion epoxy with e-coat or stainless bolts.

Typical application: Branching: line branches, valves, internal line access.

Tapping valve and tapping machine, ordered separately. A flanged tapping valve bolts to the outlet; size-on-size taps need a 1/2 in undersized shell cutter.
