Description

The JCM 121 gas repair clamp meets USDOT Code 192 and gives an immediate repair, temporary or permanent, of breaks, cracks, splits, corroded areas, pin holes and similar damage on gas lines. The full-circumference gasket seals the whole pipe, and the stainless band conforms to flat and uneven pipe exteriors.

Heavy-duty high-strength ductile iron lugs with mutually supporting sliding fingers carry high bolt torque into the gasket; oval-neck track bolts lock in the canted ears.

Typical application: Repair, temporary or permanent: breaks, cracks, splits, holes, corroded areas and pin holes; connection of plain-end pipe.

Key Features

  • Meets USDOT Code 192
  • 1/4 in thick gridded gasket on 3 in and larger fills pits and voids
  • Molded-in stainless bridge plate prevents pinched gasket
  • Drop-in, swing-away bolts with no loose parts; bolts replace individually
  • Suitable for reshaping and marking squeeze-off locations
What Ships and What It Needs to Run

Working Pressure

100 PSI gas on 2-8 in; 60 PSI gas on 10-12 in. JCM's installation instructions rate the clamp for gas service at 100 PSI on cast iron and steel pipe through 8 in and 60 PSI on 10 and 12 in. Higher capability depends on the application; send us the pipe, damage and pressure for JCM's rating.

Before You OrderConfirm the pipe OD before ordering.
For cast iron and steel gas mains; JCM does not use the 120 and 150 gas clamp series on polyethylene gas pipe.
Anchor the pipe: the clamp seals the full circumference but does not hold the pipe against lateral movement, so JCM calls for proper anchorage wherever the pipe could move out of the clamp.
