Overview

The Quick-Cam wraps the pipe and closes with cam lugs that carry a built-in handle, sealing leaks, holes and breaks with a waffled mat gasket and multi O-ring seal beads. Each Extended Range clamp covers up to 0.9 in of pipe OD, so fewer sizes cover more pipe. These are the gas-service builds from Dresser’s Gas price list, with ductile iron lugs and coated carbon steel bolts.

Application: Leak and break repair on steel, cast iron, ductile iron, PVC and HDPE natural gas lines up to 12 in.

  • Up to 0.9 in of OD range per clamp
  • Removable bolt-head lug for tight spaces
  • Seals under full or reduced line pressure

Working Pressure

Up to 125 PSI working pressure on natural gas, tested to 190 PSI, on pipe up to 12 in diameter. Every build on this listing is 12 in OS or smaller. The rating never exceeds that of the pipe, and the rating on the product label is the actual rating of each part.

Installation Notes
  • Clean the pipe of rust, scale and debris, and confirm the OD with a pi tape before mounting.
  • Lubricate the pipe, gasket and spanner surfaces with soapy water; do not use pipe lubricant.
  • Center the clamp over the leak; the bolt-head lug can be removed in tight spaces.
  • Tighten the nuts evenly from the center bolts outward to the torque on the product label, using a calibrated torque wrench.
  • Anchor the pipe: the clamp seals but does not restrain, and Dresser requires anchoring where pull-out can occur.
  • On HDPE, use SDR 17 or thicker pipe and buried service only.
