Parts & Kit Ordering Notes

Whether ordering pre-built kits or individual parts, the following information speeds turnaround:

Ordering Information We Need

  • Pump model & serial number. Always specify the pump model and serial number — some part numbers vary by build year or revision. Serial number is on the pump nameplate.
  • Engine make / model / tier. For filter kits and engine parts, specify engine manufacturer, model, and EPA tier (2 / 3 / IT4 / T4). Engine info is on the engine nameplate, separate from the pump nameplate.
  • Kit vs. individual parts. Pre-built kits are most economical for scheduled service. Individual parts are appropriate for failure-driven service — order what you need.
  • Stainless vs. standard. Mechanical Seal Kit ships with Viton elastomers and SS gasketing for compatibility with both standard cast-iron and stainless pump units. Confirm pump materials when ordering.
  • Lead time. Common kits ship within 3–7 business days from Xylem Parts & Logistics. Critical / emergency parts can be air-freighted — specify urgency at order.
  • Recommended stocking. For fleet operators, stock at least one Mechanical Seal Kit and one Filter Kit per active pump. Reduces unscheduled downtime by orders of magnitude.

Should I order kits or individual parts?
For scheduled / planned service, kits are typically more economical and faster — single part number, single ship, no lookup required. For failure-driven service (something specific broke), order the individual parts you need. We can quote either way; tell us your situation and we'll recommend.
What's the difference between Tier 2, Tier 3, IT4, and T4 filter kits?
Engine emissions tiers reflect EPA regulations on diesel engines — Tier 2 is older equipment, T4 is current production. Filter configurations vary because emissions equipment (DPF, DOC, SCR) differs by tier. Specifying the wrong tier kit can cause emissions noncompliance or engine damage. Check your engine nameplate or call us with the engine make/model and we'll identify the tier.
How fast can I get emergency parts?
Most common parts ship within 3–7 business days from Xylem Parts & Logistics. For true emergencies, parts can be air-freighted overnight (significant cost premium). Tell us your timeline at order and we'll route accordingly.
Are aftermarket parts compatible with Godwin pumps?
Some aftermarket parts will physically fit, but warranty implications and reliability are uncertain. Xylem warranty service typically requires OEM parts in critical components (impellers, seals, bearings). For non-critical service items, aftermarket may be acceptable but isn't supported. We sell only OEM parts.
Do you keep parts in stock?
No — parts ship factory-direct from Xylem Parts & Logistics. This ensures current revisions and avoids the carrying cost that would be passed through in pricing. For fleet operators, we recommend on-site kit stocking — we coordinate with Xylem to set up appropriate stocking levels.
