Godwin NC SeriesStringy Material · Self-Cleaning Impeller · Flygt N-Technology

When wipes, rags, fiber, and stringy material clog conventional pumps, Godwin NC series delivers. Featuring Flygt N-technology with self-cleaning impeller geometry, NC pumps maintain efficiency in fiber-laden wastewater that would jam standard open-impeller designs.

Godwin NC Series pump featuring Flygt N-technology

Why NC Series

Modern wastewater is full of disposable wipes, rags, and fibers that destroy conventional impellers. NC's self-cleaning geometry was engineered specifically for this problem.

Self-Cleaning Impeller

Flygt N-technology impeller geometry continuously sweeps stringy material toward the discharge — no clog, no efficiency loss over time.

Highest Total System Efficiency

Maintains pump efficiency over time as conventional impellers degrade with rag buildup. Lower fuel costs, longer service intervals.

Reduced Unplanned Maintenance

Eliminates the unscheduled clog-clearing service calls that plague modern wastewater pumping operations.

Same Dri-Prime Reliability

Inherits the full Dri-Prime platform: 28 ft suction lift, run-dry capable, automatic re-priming, Critically Silenced enclosure available.

Diesel or Electric

Available in both drive configurations. Electric NC150 and NC350 are popular for permanent treatment plant installations.

4 Models from 0–6,000 GPM

NC80 (4×3) through NC350 (16×16) covering the full range of municipal and industrial wastewater applications.

NC Series Models & Specifications

Diesel-driven specifications shown. Electric models available with similar flow / head ratings (consult electric specs for HP and voltage). NC350 is skid-mounted only due to size.

Model Branch (in) Flow (GPM) Max TDH (ft) HP @ RPM (Diesel) Mount Wet Wt (lb)
NC80 4×3 0 – 350 110 15 @ 2,200 Trailer 1,940
NC100 4×4 100 – 750 165 30 @ 2,200 Trailer 2,660
NC150 6×6 700 – 1,700 205 75 @ 2,200 Trailer 3,500
NC350 16×16 3,000 – 6,000 160 300 @ 1,800 Skid Base 16,020

NC Series Configuration Options

NC inherits the Dri-Prime platform's configuration flexibility:

Available Configurations

  • Drive type. Diesel (Tier 4 Final) or electric (230/460 V three-phase, VFD-compatible).
  • Wetted parts. Standard cast iron; stainless options available. NC's value is the impeller geometry — metallurgy upgrades for chemical service work the same as CD/HL.
  • Mounting. Trailer for NC80 / NC100 / NC150; skid base only for NC350 due to weight.
  • Enclosure. Open set or Critically Silenced enclosure (~69 dBA at 30 ft).
  • Controls. PrimeGuard 2 standard. FST remote monitoring optional. Particularly valuable on NC installations where unattended operation is a key benefit.
  • Backup System Integration. NC pump-ends are available in DBS (Dri-Prime Backup System) configurations — ideal for lift stations handling high-fiber wastewater.

NC Series Applications

NC is the answer to the wipes-and-rags problem in modern wastewater pumping.

Municipal Sewer Bypass

Bypass projects where the influent contains heavy wipes, rags, hair, and modern non-flushable disposables. NC150 is the most common spec.

Lift Station Backup

DBS systems with NC pump-ends for lift stations downstream of dense urban / high-rise / hospital districts where fiber loading is severe.

WWTP Influent / Headworks

Permanent installation upstream of bar screens or for headworks bypass. NC100 / NC150 typical.

RAS / WAS Pumping

Return / waste activated sludge pumping where fiber buildup destroys conventional pumps.

Industrial Wastewater

Food processing, textile, paper mill effluent — any process generating fibrous discharge.

Septage / Vacuum Truck Transfer

Septic hauler discharge points where fiber and trash content is unpredictable.

NC Series FAQ

What is Flygt N-technology?
N-technology is a Xylem-patented impeller geometry developed by Flygt (acquired by Xylem) that continuously sweeps stringy material across the impeller leading edge toward the discharge. Conventional open or vortex impellers accumulate fiber on the leading edge over time, gradually losing efficiency and eventually clogging. N-technology prevents that buildup mechanically — no chopping, no shredding, just continuous self-cleaning geometry.
How does NC compare to a chopper pump?
Chopper pumps macerate solids before pumping — effective but maintenance-intensive (cutter wear, debris accumulation). NC pumps don't chop; they pass stringy material whole. Lower maintenance, no cutter replacement, and no power loss to chopping. The trade-off: NC won't reduce solid size, so downstream piping and treatment equipment must accommodate full-size influent.
Can I use NC for clean-water dewatering?
Yes, but you're paying for capability you won't use. CD-series pumps are more cost-effective for clean-water and modest-solids dewatering. Spec NC when fiber, rags, or stringy material is in the influent.
Why are there only 4 NC models?
Flygt N-technology is engineered to specific impeller geometries — the four NC models cover the most common municipal / industrial flow ranges where the technology delivers clear ROI. For applications outside the NC range, either CD/HL (with periodic clog-clearing) or a chopper-style pump is the alternative.
Is NC available in DBS (Backup System) configuration?
Yes — the Godwin DBS Backup System is available with NC pump-ends specifically for lift stations handling high-fiber wastewater. This is one of the highest-value applications for NC technology, where unattended unmanned operation depends on never clogging.
