Why Godwin Generators

Generators sized and engineered to match Godwin electric-drive pumps — no oversizing, no compatibility issues, no field surprises.

Pump-Matched Sizing

Output ratings calibrated to Godwin electric pump motor starting and run loads. No oversizing penalty.

Single & Three Phase

Single-phase output up to 150 kW class for residential / light commercial. Three-phase 240/480 V across the full range.

Voltage Selector Switch

3-position padlockable voltage selector on smaller models; link/reconnect board on larger units (185 kW and above).

Tier 4 Final Engines

All engines meet current EPA emissions regulations. Compliance documentation included with every quote.

Skid or Trailer Mount

Skid base standard; optional DOT-compliant trailer for highway transport and site relocation.

21–60 Hour Run Time

Integral fuel tanks sized for sustained operation. GHP100kW runs 40 hours per tank at prime; smaller units run 20–30 hours.

Generator Models 20 kW – 80 kW

Smaller frame generators — typical for powering single Godwin electric pumps, light towers, or small site equipment loads.

Generator Configuration Options

GHP series generators ship in standard configurations; the following options are commonly specified at order:

Available Configurations

  • Mounting. Skid base standard. Optional DOT-compliant trailer for road transport — trailer adds 60–80% to overall length and 600–1,400 lb to weight.
  • Voltage. 240/480 V three-phase standard. 208 V available on request. 600 V on largest models. Specify at order — voltage is set on commissioning.
  • Enclosure. Critically Silenced sound-attenuated enclosure standard. Open-frame available for permanent indoor installation.
  • Fuel options. Standard diesel (Tier 4 Final). Natural gas variants available for permanent installations with utility gas service.
  • Cold weather. Block heater standard. Optional heated enclosure for installations below 0°F.
  • Controls. Standard manual start with auto-shutdown on fault. Optional auto-start / auto-transfer for backup power applications.
  • Paralleling. Larger units (185 kW+) support paralleling for multi-generator installations. Specify at order.

Generator Applications

GHP series powers Godwin electric pumps and ancillary site equipment in installations where utility power isn't available, isn't reliable, or isn't permitted.

Electric Pump Power

Primary application — power source for Godwin electric Dri-Prime, Heidra, Wellpoint, and Rotary Lobe pumps in sites without grid service.

Light Tower Power

Power for Godwin GLT416 light towers (each tower draws ~6 kW) and other site lighting.

Construction Site Power

Site office trailers, tools, mixers, and welding equipment in addition to pump duty.

Backup Power for DBS

Some DBS installations include a Godwin generator for hybrid backup-power-plus-backup-pumping redundancy.

Emergency Response

Hurricane response staging, post-disaster utility restoration, mobile pump power. Trailer-mount enables rapid deployment.

Industrial Site Service

Refinery turnarounds, plant outages, temporary process power during equipment changeouts.

Generator FAQ

What size generator do I need for my pump?
Pump motor HP times approximately 1.0 = required generator kW for steady-state operation. Add 25–50% for starting current on across-the-line motor starts. Example: 75 HP electric pump needs ~75 kW for run; ~115–150 kW for hard-start. With VFD soft-start, run kW × 1.1 is sufficient. We size the generator as part of any electric pump quote.
Single-phase or three-phase?
Three-phase is the default for industrial / municipal applications — better motor efficiency, simpler equipment, lower cost per kW. Single-phase only when the connected load is residential / light commercial or when no three-phase equipment is involved.
Trailer-mount or skid-mount?
Trailer for projects requiring relocation, emergency response, or DOT highway transport. Skid for permanent / semi-permanent installations or when forklift handling is available. Trailer adds 600–1,400 lb and significantly increases footprint.
How long does the fuel tank last?
Per the table above, run times at prime load range from 21 hours (GHP185kW) to 60+ hours on smaller units. Auxiliary fuel tanks can extend run times to 5–7 days for unattended operation — specify at order if extended autonomy is required.
Are these generators paralleled with grid?
Standard GHP units are not paralleling-capable. For grid-paralleling (peak shaving, grid-tie applications), specialized generators with grid-synchronization controls are required — not the standard GHP product line. Larger GHP units (185 kW+) support multi-generator paralleling for capacity expansion.
