Why CD Series

Built around the Dri-Prime automatic priming system that has set the global benchmark for portable pumping for over 40 years.

Automatic Self-Priming

Primes from dry to 28 ft of suction lift. No foot valve, no operator priming, no operator monitoring. Re-primes automatically after slug flow.

Open Impeller Design

Passes solids up to 5 in (CD400M / CD500M class). Handles raw sewage, sludges, and slurries without clogging.

Run-Dry Capable

Liquid-bath silicon-carbide mechanical seals dissipate heat through the pump casing. Survives dry running indefinitely.

Critically Silenced Option

Optional sound-attenuated enclosure delivers approximately 69 dBA at 30 ft — ideal for residential, hospital, or noise-restricted applications.

Tier 4 Final Engines

All diesel engines meet current EPA emissions standards. Electric models available for permanent installation or refueling-restricted sites.

13 + 3 Models

13 standard CD models from 2-in CD75MA5 to 24-in CD500M, plus 3 elevated-head variants (CD140M, CD160M, CD180M) for higher TDH at solids-handling capacity.

CD Series Models & Specifications

CD Series Configuration Options

Every CD-series pump is configured to the application. Common build options:

Available Configurations

  • Drive type. Diesel (Tier 4 Final, integral overnight fuel tank) or electric (230/460 V three-phase, optional VFD up to 400 HP).
  • Wetted parts. Standard cast iron, 316 stainless steel, or CD4MCu duplex stainless for high/low pH applications (pH 2–12).
  • Impeller. Standard cast steel open impeller. Hard iron and high chrome available for abrasive service.
  • Mounting. Highway trailer (DOT-compliant lighting, brakes), or skid base for permanent / forklift-handling installation.
  • Enclosure. Open set or Critically Silenced (~69 dBA at 30 ft, double-walled fuel tank for environmental protection).
  • Controls. PrimeGuard 2 microprocessor controller standard; Field Smart Technology (FST) cellular/satellite remote monitoring optional.
  • Seal arrangement. Standard double mechanical with silicon-carbide faces and Viton elastomers; SS gaskets available.

CD Series Applications

CD-series pumps cover the broadest application range in the Godwin Dri-Prime line.

Sewer Bypass

Force-main and gravity-sewer bypass during repairs, capacity expansion, or lift-station refurbishment. CD150M and CD200M are the most-specified models for municipal bypass work.

Construction Dewatering

Foundation excavation, deep cuts, trench work, dam-break repair, cofferdam pumping. CD100M and CD150M cover the bulk of contractor needs.

Municipal Wastewater

Permanent installation with electric drive for treatment plant transfer, RAS/WAS pumping, digester cleanout.

Industrial Process

Refinery turnarounds, tank transfer, pit dewatering, process water make-up. Stainless wetted parts for chemical service.

Mining & Quarrying

Open-pit dewatering, sump pumping, tailings transfer. CD300M / CD400M frames for high-volume pit applications.

Emergency Response

Hurricane recovery, flood drainage, levee bypass, lift-station emergency pumping. Diesel-driven for grid-independent operation.

CD Series FAQ

What's the difference between CD150M and CD200M?
Branch size and flow capacity. CD150M is 6-in × 6-in with a 700–2,080 GPM range. CD200M is 8-in × 8-in with an 800–2,300 GPM range — slightly higher top-end flow but the same 160-ft head. The 8-in inlet on CD200M reduces friction loss on long suction runs and accommodates larger solids more easily. We default to CD150M unless suction-side restrictions push us to the larger CD200M.
When should I spec an Elevated Head model (CD140M, CD160M, CD180M)?
Elevated Head variants deliver 260–280 ft TDH — nearly double the standard CD models at the same solids-handling capacity. Spec these when discharge runs are long, vertical lift is significant, or you need pressure boost on a solids-laden line. CD160M and CD180M are popular for high-rise dewatering and long-distance bypass.
Diesel or electric? How do I decide?
Diesel for portable / temporary / remote applications, grid-independence, and emergency response. Electric for permanent installations, urban sites where noise and emissions matter, and indoor/refinery applications where diesel exhaust is restricted. Electric also pairs with VFD for variable-speed duty point matching.
What's included in the Critically Silenced option?
Sound-attenuated enclosure with 14-gauge sheet metal (12-gauge for larger units) lined with 1-in and 2-in polydamp acoustical material, critical-grade silenced muffler, silenced priming exhaust, isolated engine vibration mounts, hinged lockable doors, and double-walled fuel tank. Sound output approximately 69 dBA at 30 ft.
Can a CD pump run dry without damage?
Yes. Godwin's liquid-bath mechanical seal arrangement dissipates seal-face heat through the pump casing rather than relying on pumped fluid for cooling. Pumps survive dry running indefinitely — a major advantage in slug-flow, intermittent, or unattended applications.
Do you handle CD model selection or do I need to know which one I want?
We handle selection. Send us flow, total dynamic head, suction lift, fluid description (clean water, raw sewage, slurry, etc.), site constraints (noise, fuel access, voltage availability), and project duration. We size and configure the right CD model and quote within 24 hours.
