Included: the pump with its built-in ejector, motor, and a pressure switch factory set to 20/40 PSI (8350), 40/60 PSI (8350HP and 8315) or 30/50 PSI (8370 and 8310).
Pressure tank, foot valve and suction pipe: sized to your well and ordered separately. A.Y. McDonald calls for a reliable foot valve where the water is below the pump, so the pump keeps its prime. Our diaphragm tanks cover 2 to 119 gallons.
The 8300 E-Series is A.Y. McDonald’s shallow well jet pump in 1/2, 3/4, 1 and 1 1/2 HP, with flows up to 32 GPM. It has a 1 1/4 in inlet and 1 in outlet, and switches easily between 115V and 230V. The High Pressure E-Series, 8350HP, gives 1/2 HP pressures to 80 PSI at up to 11 GPM.
Certified for drinking water to NSF/ANSI 61 and NSF/ANSI 372, for private wells and home water systems.
Pick the switch with the model: at 1/2 HP, the 8350 ships on a 20/40 PSI switch for flow and the 8350HP on a 40/60 PSI switch for pressure. The 1 1/2 HP 8315 also ships at 40/60 PSI.
Covered for 1 year from the date of installation, or 2 years from the date of manufacture, whichever comes first, under A.Y. McDonald’s published limited warranty terms, as set out in the A.Y. McDonald Pumps & Accessories Price List. Components made by other manufacturers, such as the motor and the pressure switch, carry their original manufacturer’s warranty.
Each pump runs on its own pressure switch and tank. Size it to peak demand. For water deeper than 25 ft, the 8000 E-Series Convertible takes a deep well ejector.

Where two voltages are shown, the first is the factory wiring setting. Voltage is changed with the voltage change device on the motor, never at the pressure switch, and must match your supply before power is applied. All models listed are single phase unless the table states 3Ph.

Find your depth to water and read across to the pressure you need. Each figure is gallons per minute from A.Y. McDonald’s published table; the last column is the shut-off pressure at that lift.

Reading it against the switch: on its 40/60 PSI switch, the 1 1/2 HP 8315 lifting 15 ft delivers 20.1 GPM at cut-in and 13.3 GPM at cut-out. The 1/2 HP 8350HP on the same setting gives 8.0 and 2.3 GPM; the 8350 on 20/40 PSI gives 12.9 and 5.6 GPM.
Max shut-off is the pressure at zero flow at that lift — a ceiling, not a working point. A dash is a combination the pump does not reach. Source: Pumps by Baker catalog, rev 3/26, p. 214.
| Pressure switch | Factory set by model: 20/40 PSI (8350), 30/50 PSI (8370, 8310), 40/60 PSI (8350HP, 8315). For 40/60 PSI at 1/2 HP choose the 8350HP; its shut-off reaches 70 to 80 PSI. |
| Suction lift | Up to 25 ft from water level to pump. |
| Priming | Start it with the pump and suction line completely full of water. A reliable foot valve holds the prime; an air leak in the suction line makes it lose prime. |
| Power | Dual voltage, single phase, easy switch between 115V and 230V. Max amps 10.8, 7.1, 8.3 and 10.5 by HP. |
| Drinking water | Certified to NSF/ANSI 61 and NSF/ANSI 372. |
| Pressure tank | Sized separately: the Tank Calculator works it from pump GPM and the switch setting. |
| Pairing | Single unit. |
| Item | Code | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Diaphragm pressure tank | 6127-388 and up | Stores water between pump cycles; size it with the Tank Calculator |
| Universal mounting bracket | 6127-365 | Mounts the pump on an in-line tank |
| Pressure switch with pulsation plug | 3129-027 | Replacement 30/50 PSI switch |
| 8300 Series repair parts | By part number | E-Series repair parts |
