What Ships and What It Needs to Run
Included: the pump with its built-in ejector (nozzle and venturi in the pump housing), the NEMA J capacitor-start motor, and a pressure switch factory set to 30/50 PSI. The housing plug is tapped for a 1/4 in pressure gauge.
Pressure tank, foot valve and suction pipe: sized to your well and ordered separately. A.Y. McDonald calls for a reliable foot valve where the water is below the pump, so the pump keeps its prime. Our diaphragm tanks cover 2 to 119 gallons.
Overview
The 8100 High Pressure is A.Y. McDonald’s cast iron shallow well jet pump with a NEMA j motor. The ejector sits in the pump housing in front of the impeller, so a single 1 1/4 in suction line runs to the water and the pump lifts it from as much as 25 ft below.
Certified for drinking water to NSF/ANSI 61 and NSF/ANSI 372, for private wells and home water systems.
High pressure or high capacity? This High Pressure version holds pressure to 70 to 80 PSI at shut-off, so it suits a 40/60 PSI switch setting. Where flow matters more than pressure, the 8100 High Capacity gives more water at 20 to 50 PSI.

Single Unit
Each pump runs on its own pressure switch and tank. Size it to the household’s peak demand. Where the water is deeper than 25 ft, a convertible jet with a deep well ejector reaches 120 ft.

Where two voltages are shown, the first is the factory wiring setting. Voltage is changed with the voltage change device on the motor, never at the pressure switch, and must match your supply before power is applied. All models listed are single phase unless the table states 3Ph.

Reading it against the switch: reset to 40/60 PSI, the 1 HP 8110HP lifting 15 ft delivers 10.0 GPM at cut-in and 6.5 GPM as it reaches cut-out. At the factory 30/50 setting it gives 10.0 and 9.4 GPM.
