What Ships and What It Needs to Run

Included: the 22000 Series P - 20 GPM pump end with its built-in check valve.

Motor required, ordered separately: a Baker 4 in motor of the same horsepower. Part numbers for the 230V motors are in the motor table under Models & Performance.

And the motor’s control: two-wire motors need none; single-phase three-wire motors need a control box; three-phase motors need a starter kit.

Overview

The 22000 Series P - 20 GPM pump end is the hydraulic end of Baker’s 22000 Series 4 in submersible pump, sold without the motor. It mounts on a NEMA 4 in Baker motor of the same horsepower, to build a new pump or rebuild one in the field.

The discharge head carries a built-in hex fluted guide bearing with a rubber insert around the stainless steel shaft, and the diffusers use Baker’s captured stack design, with sand notches that keep sand moving through the pump. Each pump is individually tested after assembly.

This listing covers 1/2 to 1 1/2 HP (4 models), all with a 1 1/4 in NPT discharge.

  • Discharge head — reinforced thermoplastic with built-in guide bearing; 1 1/4 in NPT female outlet.
  • Check valve — internal anti-spin check valve with O-ring seal, molded from engineered polymer.
  • Shell — heavy wall stainless steel, left-hand threaded at both ends; field repairable.
  • Diffusers — polycarbonate, corrosion and abrasion resistant, built for sand handling.
  • Impellers — glass bead acetal.
  • Pump shaft — 7/16 in stainless steel hex for positive impeller drive.
  • Motor bracket — reinforced thermoplastic, aligned to the NEMA standard.
  • Motor coupling — 300 series stainless steel.
  • Intake screen and cable guard — thermoplastic.
  • Hardware — stainless steel screws, washers and nuts.

Room to Grow

One pump end per motor. Need more head later? Step up in horsepower within the P - 20 GPM class with the matching larger motor. Need more flow? Move to a higher flow class of the 22000 Series; every class uses the same 1 1/4 in NPT discharge, so the drop pipe connection stays the same.

Models & Performance — Will It Do What You Need?

Find your horsepower in the row, then read across. Total head is the lift from the pumping water level to the discharge, plus the pressure you want at the tank (2.31 ft for every PSI), plus friction in the drop pipe.

Total head in feet · curves end at 30.5–33.5 GPM

HP 0 GPM (Shut-off) 7.5 GPM 17.5 GPM 25 GPM 30 GPM
1/2 HP 146 ft 138 ft 106 ft 75 ft 47 ft
3/4 HP 203 ft 190 ft 153 ft 106 ft 66 ft
1 HP 261 ft 242 ft 189 ft 125 ft 77 ft
1 1/2 HP 358 ft 337 ft 264 ft 176 ft 103 ft

Read from the published curve in the Pumps by Baker catalog (Sept 2025, rev 3/26), p. 48, digitized and rounded down, at the flows nearest 20%, 50% and 75% of the curve’s 33.5 GPM end. 0 GPM is the printed shut-off. For the 1/2 HP (the curve reads 154 ft at zero flow against the printed 146 ft), the printed shut-off is shown. For the 3/4 HP curve, the published curve and A.Y. McDonald’s printed output tables disagree by about 8 ft on average; the head figures are read from the curve, and the output tables below are the printed figures. The last column is the last flow every curve reaches; the curve ends are named in the table title.

Output tables as printed in the Pumps by Baker catalog (Sept 2025, rev 3/26), pp. 47-48, at the 30 and 50 PSI rows. Riser-pipe friction is not included (manufacturer note): add it for long or small drop pipe. — marks a point A.Y. McDonald does not print for that horsepower.
