What Ships and What It Needs to Run
Included: the motor with its lead; lead length per model is in the Models table.
Pump end required, ordered separately: a Baker pump end of the same horsepower with a 10 in motor bracket.
Motor control: Three-phase motors need a starter kit or drive. Overload protection must be provided by the user.
Drop cable and splice kit: sized to your setting depth and ordered separately.
Overview
Baker’s 10 in asynchronous two-pole submersible motors run from 125 to 250 HP. They are the rewindable type: the copper, PVC-insulated stator sits in an AISI 304 stainless steel outer shell, with painted cast iron supports and a keyed shaft end.
A Kingsbury-type thrust bearing with graphite tilting pads and a ceramic disc carries the load, and a ceramic and carbon mechanical seal closes the motor. Overload protection must be provided by the user. Four-pole versions can be made available; contact us.
Genuine A.Y. McDonald equipment, factory-new in original packaging — sold and supported by Watermain Supply, an independent industrial supplier. Watermain Supply is an Authorized Stocking A.Y. McDonald and Baker Water Systems Distributor.
3-Year A.Y. McDonald Motor Warranty
Covered for 3 years from the date of manufacture under A.Y. McDonald’s published terms for Baker submersible motors. The terms add a 5-year term from the date of manufacture for Baker submersible motors, including assembled pumps with pump ends up to 25 GPM, in potable water applications.
Room to Grow
One motor per pump end, matched by horsepower. Need more head or flow later? Pair a larger pump end with the matching larger motor: Baker 10 in motors run from 125 to 250 HP in this listing, all on the same 10 in flange.

Performance — Electrical Data
A submersible motor is sized to the pump end: the same horsepower, the same flange, and enough downward thrust capacity for the pump. The figures below are the catalog electrical data, for sizing the breaker, starter or drive and the drop cable.
