Overview

The T3 service saddle fits ductile iron, cast iron, PVC, asbestos cement, steel and HDPE with one part, cutting saddle inventory. Its patented cam lug system with built-in handle covers up to 0.9 in of OD on single panel saddles, and the spin-extruded branch resists valve installation torque.

Application: Service taps on water mains.

Installation Notes
  • Clean and descale the pipe, confirm the OD with a pi tape, and never mount the saddle on a gouged, pitted or cracked surface.
  • Lubricate the pipe and gasket surfaces with soapy water; no grease or pipe lubricant.
  • Tighten the nuts evenly to the label torque, keeping the lug gaps even (both sides on double-panel saddles); wait 10 minutes and re-torque.
  • Hydrostatically test the seals before tapping; never test with compressed gas.
  • Use a cutter smaller than the outlet, typically 1/2 in smaller.
  • The saddle seals at the outlet aperture only. Water service only, not gas; on PE/HDPE the maximum install and operating temperature is 85°F.

Before You Order. Measure the pipe OD and choose NPT or CC threads to match your corporation stop. Anchor the pipe: this product seals but does not restrain, and Dresser requires the pipe joint to be anchored wherever pull-out can occur. Non-stock Dresser parts are not returnable without Dresser’s authorization, and ship time is confirmed when you order.
