Description
The Smith-Blair Style 371 is an all 304 stainless steel service saddle with a single stud, designed for PVC pipe and suited to steel, ductile iron, cast iron and asbestos cement as well. Its 5 in wide stainless band wraps the pipe for uniform sealing and support, and the outlet gasket is bonded into the band, with a hydro-mechanical lip that seals tighter as line pressure rises.
Each saddle covers both the steel pipe OD and the ductile iron OD within the same nominal size, and a keeper bar helps pull the band around the pipe and close it during installation. Stock sizes run 4 to 12 in with 1/2 in CC and 3/4 and 1 in NPT and CC outlets.
Application: uniform sealing and pipe support for 1/2 to 1 in service taps on PVC and other water mains, 4 to 12 in.

Smith-Blair warrants its products to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the date of shipment by Smith-Blair. Dated proof of purchase, such as a bill of sale, is required to establish eligibility. Smith-Blair will repair or, at its option, replace a defective product; the product is returned to the factory or warehouse Smith-Blair designates.

Choose the size and pipe OD in the first option and the tap in the second; the part number shows in the last option.
Installation Notes
- Confirm the saddle OD range and tap match the pipe before starting.
- Clean the pipe where the outlet gasket will seat, removing scale, dirt or debris.
- Wrap the band around the pipe with the outlet at the tap location and use the keeper bar to pull the band around and close it.
- Tighten the nut to draw the band down evenly; follow the instructions packed with the saddle for torque.
- Make up the service connection with a thread compound that meets the water supplier's requirements.
