Overview

The Tigercub is TIGERFLOW’s simplex booster system for small commercial buildings: medium-size apartment buildings, residential, hotels, municipal sites and shopping centers. Each one is a TIGERFLOW CD10 vertical multistage pump on a stainless steel base and manifold, with a variable frequency drive, a UL 508A listed disconnect panel and the valves already piped, prefabricated and factory tested as one UL / cUL listed packaged pumping system. The drive holds a constant pressure as demand changes, slowing the pump at low flow.

  • Non-slam, center-guided stainless steel check valve
  • Low suction or low-level alarm
  • Liquid-filled pressure gauges and vibration isolators
  • Union-ball valves on suction and discharge, with pressure port
  • Single source responsibility, with a certificate of product liability insurance
What Ships and What It Needs to Run

Included: the CD10 vertical multistage pump and TEFC motor, variable frequency drive, UL 508A listed disconnect panel, non-slam stainless steel check valve, low suction or low-level alarm, liquid-filled pressure gauges, vibration isolators, and 2 in union-ball valves on suction and discharge with pressure port, prefabricated and factory tested on one base.

Expansion tank, recommended, ordered separately. TIGERFLOW’s 2-gallon, 150 PSI diaphragm tank minimizes system cycling during leak-load conditions; larger tanks are options. See our Tigercub expansion tanks. A thermal purge valve (option) helps prevent pump damage in low-flow conditions.

Suction and discharge piping, power feed: sized to your building and ordered separately.

Genuine TIGERFLOW equipment, factory-new in original packaging — sold and supported by Watermain Supply, an independent industrial supplier.
12-Month TIGERFLOW Warranty

Covered for 12 months from the date of purchase under TIGERFLOW’s published warranty terms.

Single Unit

The Tigercub is a simplex package. Size it to the building’s full peak demand now; TIGERFLOW builds duplex and larger packaged booster systems to order where the building needs a standby pump or more flow.

Models & Performance — Will It Do What You Need?

Pressure the pump adds at each flow, in PSI, at full speed. Find your model and read across; the first column is the most it can add.

CD10 · Pressure added in PSI, pump at full speed · curves end at 74.8 GPM

Model 0 GPM (Shut-off) 28 GPM 42 GPM 56 GPM 74 GPM

CD10-4 · 3 or 5 HP 90 85 78 66 44
CD10-5 · 5 HP 113 105 98 84 57

CD10-9 · 7-1/2 HP 207 195 182 156 106

Drawing from a tank or cistern — nothing arrives with pressure, so what the pump adds is what you get. Read the table straight through: the CD10-6 adds 118 PSI at 42 GPM.

Fed by a city main — the pump adds on top of what already arrives, and the drive slows it to hold your set point. With 40 PSI arriving, the CD10-9 still adds 106 PSI at 74 GPM, near its 74.8 GPM curve end, so it holds 146 PSI there; at a lower set point it needs to add less and runs slower. Incoming pressure turns into extra flow at the same set point.

Read from the published CD10 curves in the TIGERFLOW CD Series Vertical Multistage Pumps catalog (60 Hz, 3500 RPM), pp. 17-18, digitized from the catalog’s vector curve data and rounded down to whole PSI. Zero flow is the shut-off point — a ceiling, not a working point; TIGERFLOW prints no separate shut-off figure, so the 0 GPM column is where the dashed part of each curve meets zero flow. The solid (recommended) part of each curve starts at 26.4 GPM; 28 GPM is the first column inside it, the next two sit near 50% and 75% of the curve end, and the last column is the last regular digitized flow every curve reaches (the curve end is named above the table where it runs a little further). Single- and three-phase builds and the HP options of the same model run on the same curve. Feet of head = PSI × 2.31. The full curve, with power per stage and NPSHr, is in the image gallery. The figures are at full speed; the drive holds lower pressures by running slower. The Tigercub catalog prints the same single-pump curves (marked 3600 RPM).

Best operating range: 26.4 to 74.8 GPM, the solid section of the published pump curve. This is where the pump turns the most electricity into water pressure. Ask for more flow than it can deliver at your setting and it runs at full speed continuously, which is where motors and seals wear out. Sizing a booster to the building rather than to the headline numbers is what makes it last.

Before You Buy — The Limits That Decide the Fit
Set point Set on the drive. TIGERFLOW publishes no separate maximum set point; incoming plus added pressure must stay within the pump’s 362 PSI rating.
Suction Flooded suction or a pressurized supply; the pump does not prime itself. The low suction or low-level alarm is standard.
Power 208-230V 1Ph; 208-230V or 460V 3Ph. 7-1/2 HP builds are three phase only.
Best operating range 26.4 to 74.8 GPM
Integrated vessel None; a 2-gallon expansion tank is the recommended option for leak loads. A thermal expansion tank is still required at any storage water heater.
Pairing Single unit; duplex and larger systems are built to order.
Water temperature Pump rated 5°F to 248°F (158°F standard type per the CD manual); confirm package limits for hot water.
