TIGERFLOW Ocelot Duplex Variable Speed Booster System - Lead-Lag

The Ocelot Duplex puts two Ocelot 60 permanent magnet, variable speed pumps on one skid with 304 stainless steel piping, individual pump isolation valves and 2-1/2 in grooved connections. Constant pressure control runs the pumps lead-lag with automatic alternation, so the pair shares the wear and the second pump picks up when demand climbs. It suits multi-family and other light commercial buildings.

Two pumps hold more pressure at the flow the building actually draws. With both running, each carries a share of the water and sits higher on its own curve: the duplex is rated 70 GPM at 141 ft, against 35 GPM at 141 ft for one Ocelot 60. The shut-off pressure at zero flow stays at the single-pump 230 ft, because it is set by the pump model. Lead-lag control brings the second pump in only when demand needs it.

Drawing from a tank or cistern — nothing arrives with pressure, so what the pump adds is what you get: 61 PSI at 70 GPM.

Fed by a city main — the pump adds on top of what already arrives, and the drive slows it to hold your set point. With 40 PSI arriving and a 60 PSI set point it only has to add 20 PSI, well under the 61 PSI it adds at its 70 GPM rating, so it delivers more than its rated flow. Incoming pressure turns into extra flow at the same set point.

From the performance table in the TIGERFLOW Ocelot Simplex and Duplex booster brochure (April 2025): max head 230 ft, rated 70 GPM at 141 ft, max flow 144 GPM; TIGERFLOW prints no head figure at the maximum flow, so the table stops at the rated point. Zero flow is the shut-off point — a ceiling, not a working point. Figures are at full speed; the drive holds lower pressures by running slower. Feet of head = PSI × 2.31. The brochure’s chart is drawn schematically and is not used for the table.

Best operating range: TIGERFLOW prints no efficiency curve; the rated point is 70 GPM. Ask for more flow than it can deliver at your setting and it runs at full speed continuously, which is where motors and seals wear out. Sizing a booster to the building rather than to the headline numbers is what makes it last.
