Grundfos GFXA-HP tanks are ASME hydro-pneumatic tanks for commercial and industrial well systems, pressure-booster packages and other potable water service. They store water under pressure between pump cycles, so the pump starts less often and the system rides through short demands without a pump start. Water is held inside a heavy-duty butyl bladder and never touches the steel shell. The bladder is replaceable, and every tank can be installed vertically or horizontally.
Each tank carries a pressure gauge, a bladder integrity monitor and a standard 0.302-32 tire-valve charging connection. Tanks ship pre-charged at 40 PSIG and are set in the field to the system’s pump cut-in pressure. From the 85 size up, both the top and bottom connections reach the bladder; the bottom one is the system feed and the top one takes a gauge or switch.
The HP build is the same tank rated for higher working pressure: choose 200 PSI or 250 PSI to match the booster’s shut-off head plus suction pressure.
Included: the GFXA-HP tank with factory-installed bladder, pressure gauge, bladder integrity monitor and charging valve.
Ships: about 52-12,030 lb by model, by LTL freight to a commercial dock; liftgate or residential delivery is a paid checkout option. Larger tanks ship on their own skid or base ring.
Needed to install: isolation valve and drain at the system connection, a pressure gauge or tire gauge to set the pre-charge, and a level floor or pad rated for the full-of-water weight.

Weights are Grundfos’s published figures (approximate shipping weight). Dimensions in inches. Tanks over 150 lb ship by LTL freight.
| Pressure | The relief valve setting must be at or below the tank rating. |
| Liquid | Potable or clean water. Not for fuel, oil or chemicals. |
| Sizing | Size for the drawdown needed between pump starts at the cut-in and cut-out pressures; the whole tank volume is usable (full acceptance), but drawdown depends on the pressure band. |
| Weight | Large tanks weigh up to several tons empty; check floor loading full of water. |
Commercial and industrial water wells, domestic and fire-free pressure-booster packages (including Grundfos Hydro MPC), irrigation, and other potable water systems where pump cycling must be limited.
| Shell and heads | Carbon steel |
| Bladder | Heavy-duty butyl, replaceable |
| System connection | Stainless steel, NPT |
| Exterior | Primer, black painted |
