Description

Not all boosting applications require complicated boosting systems. The DuraMAC™ Boosting system is simple, versatile, sophisticated, and reliable. With an easy setup installation and a versatile control with three modes of operation, this pump is flexible enough to meet your commercial or irrigation needs.

The 304 stainless steel version of the DuraMAC™ Booster pump will meet the needs of boosting water pressure from Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems, low PH and other agressive water applications which would be corrosive to no-lead brass and metal pipes.

  • Easy set-up installation
  • Digital control with dual modes of operation
  • Durable stainless steel and no-lead brass connections
  • TEFC single phase motor for quiet operation
  • Electronics separated and sealed from waterway
  • Pressure gauge included- No-Lead brass check valve included
  • Designed for Lead-Lag- Up to 120 GPM
  • 20 gallon pressure tank included
  • Stainless steel base- Dry run protection
  • Standard, 1 year from install warranty applies

Dual Mode Modular Vs Simplex Vs Duplex

1. Dual‑Mode Simplex (Commercial)
What it is:

One pump + 20‑gallon tank on a skid.
Works on pressure (dual‑mode: pressure or flow logic, but commercial is typically used in pressure mode).
Shuts off when flow is less than 3 GPM .
Handles up to ~70 GPM .
When to use it:

You need one pump to handle the building’s demand.
Flow requirement is up to about 70 GPM .
You want a pre‑assembled, ready‑to‑set unit with tank, skid, and piping already done.
Application examples:
Small commercial building
Smaller apartment building
Light industrial where one pump can cover the load and redundancy is not critical.

2. Dual‑Mode Duplex (Commercial)
What it is:

Two pumps + 20‑gallon tank on a skid.
Same dual‑mode control concept, but with lead/lag setup:
Pump 1 = lead (e.g., set at 60 PSI).
Pump 2 = lag (e.g., set at 50 PSI).
If the lead pump can’t keep up and pressure drops to the lag setpoint, the second pump starts and they run in tandem .
Shuts off when flow is less than 3 GPM .
Handles up to ~120 GPM .
Can be set up so either pump alone can satisfy demand (full redundancy).
When to use it:

You need higher flow than a simplex can provide (up to ~120 GPM).
You want redundancy / backup :
If one pump or its controls fail, the other can still run the building.
Ideal for:
Larger apartment complexes
Factories or industrial processes
Commercial buildings where downtime is not acceptable and/or demand can spike above what a single pump can handle.

3. Dual‑Mode Modular (Commercial)
What it is:

Same pump, motor, and control as the simplex/duplex units, but without :
The skid
The tank
The factory plumbing between tank and outlet
Essentially a “bare” booster package you can plumb into an existing system .
When to use it:

You already have a tank and piping in place and:
Don’t want to replace the tank.
Want to tie a booster into an existing system .
You want the same performance as a simplex unit but integrated into your own layout .
Good fit when:
A building already has a pressure tank and header, and you’re just adding a booster .
Space or layout makes a factory skid/tank package inconvenient.

Practical selection guide

Use Dual‑Mode Simplex if:
One pump can handle your flow (≤ ~70 GPM),
You want a complete, pre‑assembled package with tank and skid,
Redundancy is nice but not critical .

Use Dual‑Mode Duplex if:
You need more flow (up to ~120 GPM), and/or
You need backup so the system can keep running if one pump fails,
You’re serving larger commercial, industrial, or multi‑unit residential loads.

Use Dual‑Mode Modular if:
You already have a tank and system piping ,
You just need to add a booster pump into that existing system,
You don’t want or don’t have room for a full skid/tank assembly.

How it Works

Control Features

The DuraMAC™ Dual-Mode control has the flexibility to be run in two different modes.

Pressure Mode

Start Method: Pressure Drop
Stop Method: Low Flow

In Pressure Mode, the control accurately measures pressure with a pressure transducer and starts the pump at an adjustable start pressure point. The pump will stop when the flow is less than three gallons per minute.

This smart system will only run the pump when water is in use. There is a preset seven-second delay after water is not flowing past the flow sensor to fully pressurize your system and eliminate water hammer.

Flow Mode

Start Method: Water Flow
Stop Method: Low Flow

In Flow Mode, the control will start and stop based on flow, regardless of pressure. This method can be used for systems with minor leaking or when incoming pressure varies. The starting flow rate is approximately five gallons per minute. The pump will stop when the flow is less than three gallons per minute.
